Dean of Academic Affairs

Role Description The Dean of Academic Affairs is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role is responsible for overseeing academic programs, ensuring teaching quality, and aligning curricula with institutional goals and international standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing academic policies and procedures, supervising department heads and faculty, and coordinating program reviews and enhancements. The Dean collaborates with admissions, student affairs, and other administrative units to support enrollment objectives, student success, and overall academic integrity. The role also involves representing the university in accreditation and regulatory processes, preparing reports, managing budgets related to academic operations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in academic administration, with experience leading academic units or programs and managing faculty teams.Proficiency in accreditation processes, including preparation of documentation, coordination of site visits, and ongoing compliance with regulatory and quality assurance standards.Strong background in curriculum development, including design, review, and assessment of academic programs aligned with institutional mission and market needs.Experience in enrollment management, working collaboratively with admissions and marketing teams to support recruitment, retention, and progression goals.Knowledge of student affairs functions, with the ability to partner on initiatives that support student engagement, well-being, and academic success.Advanced degree (preferably a doctorate) in a relevant academic field from an accredited institution.Proven leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills within a higher education environment.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, international setting.Strong analytical and data-informed decision-making abilities, including familiarity with academic metrics and institutional research.Prior experience in a Gulf or international higher education context is highly advantageous.
