Just as teachers invest their time and energy in their scholars, we invest our time and energy in the continuous development of our teachers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Directly manage and coach RLA and Social Studies teachers to strengthen instructional practice.Lead and oversee RLA and Social Studies instructional goal-setting and long-term planning.Observe classrooms regularly and provide targeted, actionable feedback that drives measurable improvement.Coach teachers to develop clear and consistent instructional classroom expectations, routines, and methods.Ensure that every teacher shows achievement gains to ensure that scholars meet ambitious performance goals.Lead weekly data meetings, unit planning meetings, and coaching check-ins with teachers and content teams to ensure rigor and alignment.Review and provide feedback on lesson plans and internal assessments for coherence and rigor.Implement campus-wide DDI (Data-Driven Instruction) practices and analyze data with teachers and leadership regularly to maximize student performance and growth.Ensure the implementation of instructional strategies for scholars needing accommodations in SPED, RTI, EL or advanced learning programs in GenEd and SpEd classrooms.Collaborate and coordinate with the Dean of Math and Science and the Dean of Special Education in planning and executing campus wide intervention best practices.Plan and facilitate staff professional development related to literacy, social studies, and academic achievement strategies throughout the school year.Contribute to a positive, achievement-oriented campus culture aligned to the school's core values.Serve as a member of the instructional leadership team and participate in school-wide planning and decision-making.Communicate student progress and instructional priorities with families and staff as appropriate.Preferred Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree requiredMinimum of three years teaching experienceThorough understanding of curriculum, instruction, and pedagogyA proven track record of performance in scholar achievementExcellent organizational, verbal, and written skillsAdditional ConsiderationsBilingualism (Spanish/English) preferredPrevious leadership experience in schools preferredKnowledge and SkillsUnwavering commitment to AAPS mission, scholars, families, and communityAbility to lead, influence, and hold others accountable to uphold high standards of instructional excellenceAbility to be calm under pressure, especially in difficult conversationsExcellent classroom management and teaching skillsAbility to use data to inform instructional practicesExperience in collaboratively developing weekly lesson plans, scope & sequences, unit exams, weekly quizzes, quarterly exams.Application Materials: Candidates will submit a cover letter and resume to be considered to complete a performance task for evaluation.Submit a cover letter in which you describe your qualifications, your academic beliefs, and why you would be the best candidate to fulfill this essential role.Statement of Non-Discrimination: In keeping with our beliefs and goals, no employee or applicant will face discrimination/harassment based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, age, gender, marital/domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or veteran status.
