Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition OverviewWe are seeking an organised and results-driven Delivery Manager / Supervisor to oversee daily delivery operations and ensure orders, products, documents, or services are delivered accurately, safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The role will be responsible for coordinating drivers, delivery teams, dispatch activities, routes, customer requirements, and operational resources while maintaining high standards of service and operational performance.The Delivery Manager / Supervisor will work closely with warehouse, logistics, customer service, sales, procurement, operations, and management teams to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery processes. The ideal candidate should have strong coordination, problem-solving, leadership, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage fast-paced delivery operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily delivery operations and ensure all scheduled deliveries are completed accurately and within agreed service timelines.Plan, coordinate, and monitor delivery schedules based on customer requirements, order priorities, delivery locations, vehicle availability, and operational capacity.Assign deliveries, routes, vehicles, and drivers according to workload, geographical coverage, delivery priorities, and operational requirements.Monitor delivery progress and respond promptly to delays, route issues, failed deliveries, vehicle problems, or other operational disruptions.Coordinate with warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure orders are picked, packed, checked, loaded, and released for delivery accurately.Verify delivery documentation, order details, addresses, quantities, special instructions, and customer requirements before dispatch.Monitor proof of delivery (POD), delivery confirmations, signatures, digital records, and other required documentation.Ensure products and shipments are handled, loaded, transported, and delivered safely and securely.Track delivery performance using transportation management systems, GPS, route-planning tools, mobile applications, or other operational platforms.Monitor key performance indicators including on-time delivery, successful delivery rate, failed deliveries, turnaround time, customer complaints, and delivery costs.Investigate delivery delays, shortages, damages, incorrect deliveries, missing items, and customer complaints and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules, estimated arrival times, changes, delays, failed deliveries, and special requirements.Coordinate with Customer Service and Sales teams to resolve customer delivery issues and maintain a positive customer experience.Supervise delivery drivers, riders, dispatchers, and support personnel to ensure compliance with company procedures and service standards.Prepare staff schedules, allocate daily duties, monitor attendance, and ensure sufficient manpower and vehicle capacity.Conduct daily briefings and communicate delivery priorities, safety requirements, route information, customer instructions, and operational updates.Train, coach, and monitor delivery staff on customer service, handling procedures, documentation, safety, and company SOPs.Monitor driver and vehicle performance and report recurring operational or safety issues to management.Ensure vehicles, delivery equipment, scanners, mobile devices, and other operational resources are available and maintained properly.Coordinate vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, repairs, fuel requirements, and other fleet-related activities where applicable.Monitor fuel usage, mileage, delivery costs, overtime, and other operational expenses.Work with Logistics and Warehouse teams to improve route planning, loading efficiency, delivery capacity, and resource utilisation.Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, health and safety procedures, and applicable delivery requirements.Maintain accurate delivery records, route information, incident reports, customer feedback, and operational documentation.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly delivery performance reports for management.Analyse delivery data to identify recurring issues, inefficiencies, cost drivers, capacity constraints, and opportunities for improvement.Support the implementation of route optimisation, delivery tracking, automation, and other technology-based operational improvements.Coordinate urgent, same-day, high-priority, VIP, bulk, or special deliveries when required.Manage failed delivery procedures, returns, rejected shipments, damaged goods, and reverse logistics processes.Coordinate with third-party logistics providers, courier companies, contractors, and external delivery partners where applicable.Monitor external delivery partners against agreed service levels, costs, quality standards, and contractual requirements.Maintain professional relationships with customers, drivers, warehouse teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Support contingency planning and operational recovery during peak periods, vehicle shortages, system issues, severe weather, or other disruptions.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery accuracy, service quality, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost control.RequirementsDiploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.Previous experience in delivery operations, logistics, transportation, distribution, dispatch, fleet operations, or a related supervisory role.Strong understanding of delivery planning, route coordination, dispatch operations, proof of delivery, and last-mile logistics.Experience supervising drivers, riders, dispatchers, warehouse personnel, or delivery teams is preferred.Strong knowledge of delivery management systems, GPS tracking, route-planning tools, transportation management systems, or logistics platforms.Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries and operational priorities.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to delivery delays, customer issues, and operational disruptions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with customers, employees, suppliers, and internal departments.Ability to monitor operational KPIs, prepare reports, analyse performance data, and identify improvement opportunities.Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.Strong understanding of workplace safety, vehicle safety, shipment handling, and operational procedures.Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced delivery environment.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and manage operational teams.High level of reliability, accountability, attention to detail, and customer-service orientation.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, early mornings, evenings, or peak delivery periods when required.Experience with fleet management, third-party logistics providers, or e-commerce delivery operations is an advantage.
