Many team members have long tenures with the practice, contributing to strong patient relationships and consistent, compassionate care.Role Description The Dental Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at the Carmel, NY office. This role supports dentists and hygienists during patient examinations and procedures, including preparing treatment rooms, organizing instruments, and assisting chairside. Daily responsibilities include maintaining strict sterilization and infection control standards, taking and processing dental X-rays as permitted, updating patient records, and ensuring patients are comfortable before, during, and after treatments. The Dental Assistant also helps manage clinical supplies, coordinates with front-office staff for smooth patient flow, and provides clear post-treatment instructions to support excellent oral care. Collaboration, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach are essential.Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Dental Assisting, including chairside support, instrument handling, and procedure preparation.Knowledge of Dental Care, Dentistry, and Oral Care to effectively support preventive, restorative, and cosmetic treatments.Experience with Sterilization practices and infection control protocols in a clinical setting.Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with patients and team members, with strong customer service skills.Relevant dental assistant training or certification; New York State licensure or registration as required by law is preferred.Comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-provider practice and following established clinical workflows.Basic computer skills and familiarity with dental practice management or electronic health record systems.Prior experience in a general or cosmetic dental practice is an advantage.
