Dental Assistant

Role Description This full time, on-site Dental Assistant role at Best Smile is based in Richmond, VA. The Dental Assistant supports dentists and hygienists during patient appointments, including preparing treatment rooms, organizing instruments, and assisting with dental procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include welcoming patients, updating records, preparing and passing instruments, managing chairside suction, and providing clear post-treatment instructions. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment, sterilizing equipment, restocking supplies, and coordinating with the front desk team to help manage scheduling and patient flow. The Dental Assistant is expected to deliver respectful, patient-centered care and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Dental Assisting and Dentistry to support clinical procedures and patient care.Knowledge of Dental Care and Oral Care best practices to educate and support patients before and after treatment.Experience with Sterilization processes and infection control protocols in a dental or clinical setting.Ability to follow detailed clinical instructions, maintain accurate patient records, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with patients, clinicians, and colleagues.Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience; current certification or licensure as required by Virginia regulations is preferred.Basic computer skills and familiarity with dental practice management or EHR systems are beneficial.Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and inclusive, non-discriminatory care.
