Apply & track with Apply EdgeDental Hygiene FacultyPosition Summary: The responsibilities of the successful candidate for the Dental Hygiene Faculty include didactic, laboratory, and clinical teaching.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Didactic course preparation, presentation, development, course management, grading, and evaluationParticipate in, and support clinic or pre-clinic assignmentsPursue excellence in teaching using a variety of techniques with computers, multimedia, and in lectures/laboratoriesStay current with learning resources, textbooks, dental hygiene clinical equipment/supplies, technology, and software required by the dental hygiene programStudent mentoring, counseling, and advisement for success and retentionMaintain accurate and updated student recordsMaintain regular office hours to assist students and support the dental hygiene programSupport students with attendance at orientations, program activities, and professional conventionsWrite letters of recommendation, employment, and continuing education to support the studentsParticipate in faculty orientation and faculty development programsAttend and support faculty/department meetingsAccept and participate in campus and dental hygiene program committee assignmentsEncourage community service and involvement with faculty and studentsPromote the Dental Hygiene Program to the community through attendance at local and national professional conventions.Act as an ambassador and advocate for the Dental Hygiene program and the dental hygiene profession in the college and communityStay current in the Dental Hygiene profession through professional and occupational developmentProvide leadership and professional contributions to the dental hygiene program, the school, and Education Affiliates, Inc.Maintain a positive attitude toward work, the dental hygiene department, students, colleagues, administration, the school, and Education Affiliates, Inc.Support the Dental Hygiene program vision, mission, and goalsComply with all program and school policiesAccept and participate in other duties as assignedRegular and reliable attendanceSkills/Competencies/Qualifications:Education:Must be a dental hygienist who possesses a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or be enrolled in a baccalaureate programOr a Dentist who has a background in educationProfessional experience is necessary to understand and fulfill the program goalsDocumented background in the assigned subjectProfessional:Must have a current Dental Hygiene or Dental License or the ability to obtain oneMust have current CPR certification/health care providerExcellent oral and written communications3 years of full-time clinical experience as a Registered Dental HygienistTeaching experience preferredDocumented background in educational methodologyClassification: Exempt, salaryWork Hours: May be full-time; may include evening/weekend hoursTravel: NoneWorking Environment: Interior/Office
