The Dental Hygist will perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including scaling, polishing, and application of preventive agents, while promoting optimal oral hygiene for patients of diverse backgrounds. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing oral health, identifying signs of periodontal disease and other conditions, updating and documenting patient records, and collaborating with dentists on treatment recommendations. The role also involves educating patients on oral hygiene practices, reinforcing treatment plans, maintaining strict infection control and sterilization protocols, and supporting the clinical team in delivering coordinated, efficient care. The Dental Hygienist is expected to uphold professional standards, follow practice policies, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for patients and colleagues.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong clinical skills in dentistry and dental care, including the ability to perform thorough oral assessments and support restorative and preventive treatments.Candidates should possess expertise in hygiene and dental prophylaxis, with proficiency in scaling, polishing, fluoride application, and patient oral hygiene instruction.Candidates should possess knowledge of periodontal disease, including recognition of disease indicators, periodontal charting, and collaboration on appropriate treatment plans.Active state license as a Dental Hygienist and current CPR/BLS certification.Strong communication and patient education skills, with an ability to build trust and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Commitment to infection control, safety protocols, and adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.Ability to work collaboratively within a dental team, manage time effectively, and use dental software for charting and scheduling.Prior experience in a general dentistry practice is beneficial; willingness to engage in continuing education and professional development is preferred.
