The Dental Nurse will support dentists and other clinicians during examinations and treatments, preparing and maintaining clinical areas and dental instruments. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with chairside procedures, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring high standards of infection control and decontamination. The role also involves providing patients with clear information and reassurance, managing appointment flow, and coordinating with the wider dental team to deliver efficient, safe care. The Dental Nurse is expected to follow relevant clinical guidelines, adhere to practice protocols, and contribute to a positive, inclusive working environment.QualificationsStrong clinical support skills in Dentistry and Dental Care, including chairside assistance and patient preparation.Knowledge and application of Infection Control and Decontamination procedures in a clinical setting.Experience or interest in Orthodontics, supporting orthodontic assessments and treatments.Recognized Dental Nurse qualification and registration (or eligibility for registration) with the appropriate professional body.Clear, respectful communication skills and the ability to provide empathetic patient support.High attention to detail, adherence to clinical protocols, and commitment to patient safety.Ability to work effectively in a team, manage time well, and adapt to changing clinical needs.Previous experience in a dental practice and ongoing commitment to professional development are beneficial.- Trainee dental nurses will be considered for the right applicant!
