The practice values professionalism, clear communication, and a supportive atmosphere for both patients and staff.Role Description: The Dental Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out procedures, and ensuring a smooth flow at the front desk. Daily tasks include answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, scheduling and confirming appointments, updating patient information, and coordinating with dental care providers regarding patient flow. The Dental Receptionist also processes payments, handles insurance-related documentation as needed, and maintains a tidy, organized reception area. This position requires a focus on friendly, professional service, with special attention to creating a positive experience for children and their families.QualificationsStrong Appointment Scheduling skills, including booking, confirming, and adjusting patient appointments efficiently.Knowledge of basic Dental Care terminology and procedures to support patient communication and clinic coordination.Professional Phone Etiquette and customer service skills for handling calls and inquiries in a calm, courteous manner.Clear and respectful Communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, caregivers, and dental staff.Experience with Receptionist Duties such as patient check-in/check-out, payment processing, and maintaining records.Comfort using dental practice management software and standard office applications, Dentrix Knowledge is an asset.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment.Previous experience in a dental or healthcare reception role is an asset; completion of a dental administration or medical office program is beneficial.Works well with children
