The Depot Manager is responsible for accessories stock management, accessories repair activities, daily scheduling and allocation of the depot team, and maintaining an organised, safe and efficient depot operation. The role will ensure that accessories are properly received, stored, inspected, repaired, maintained and made available for operational requirements. The Depot Manager will monitor team productivity, maintain accurate stock records, ensure safe working practices and provide regular updates on operational requirements, stock levels and any issues that may affect service delivery.Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operation and organisation of the depot, ensuring all areas are maintained in a safe, clean, clearly identified and orderly condition. Manage accessories stock from receipt through storage, issue, return, inspection, repair and final disposition, maintaining accurate stock records at all times. Regularly inspect accessories and identify the condition of each item, clearly distinguishing between serviceable, repairable, uneconomical-to-repair, obsolete and non-serviceable items. Assess damaged or defective accessories and make appropriate recommendations for repair, refurbishment, quarantine, disposal or replacement based on condition, age, repair history, operational demand and estimated repair cost. Ensure items identified for disposal are properly segregated, documented and supported by the required technical and management justification before disposal approval is requested. Maintain effective controls to prevent serviceable or economically repairable accessories from being incorrectly classified for disposal, while also ensuring that obsolete or uneconomical items are not retained unnecessarily and occupying valuable depot space. Coordinate and oversee accessories repair works, ensuring jobs are prioritised, scheduled and completed within agreed turnaround times and to the required quality standard. Establish and monitor target completion times for repair activities, inspections, stock movements and other depot tasks, taking corrective action where activities are falling behind schedule. Plan and schedule the depot team's daily and weekly activities, allocating manpower according to workload, priority, competency and operational requirements. Monitor individual and team productivity against planned activities, completed quantities and agreed turnaround times, identifying underperformance, bottlenecks and opportunities to improve efficiency. Ensure that work is properly planned before resources are allocated, avoiding unnecessary waiting time, duplicated handling, poor sequencing or excessive movement of accessories within the depot. Maintain visibility of outstanding work, aged repair jobs, pending inspections, disposal candidates and stock movements, ensuring that actions are followed through to completion. Coordinate the movement, positioning and storage of accessories and equipment within the depot to maximise space utilisation, maintain clear access routes and minimise unnecessary handling. Ensure all depot activities are carried out in accordance with Action's HSE policies and safe working practices, including appropriate lifting, handling, storage and equipment controls. Carry out regular inspections of the depot, storage areas, accessories and associated equipment, identifying and addressing housekeeping, safety, stock condition or maintenance issues. Work closely with Workshop, Operations, Procurement, Logistics and other cross-functional teams to ensure accessories are available when required and repair/disposal decisions support operational demand. Maintain clear records of accessories repaired, returned to service, quarantined, disposed of and awaiting action, ensuring stock status is accurately reflected in the relevant system. Monitor stock ageing, utilisation and movement trends to identify slow-moving, obsolete or surplus accessories and recommend appropriate actions to management. Support the development and implementation of KPIs covering stock accuracy, repair turnaround time, productivity, disposal cycle time, aged stock, housekeeping and overall depot efficiency. Prepare regular reports for management covering stock position, repair backlog, disposal recommendations, team productivity, turnaround-time performance, depot capacity and operational risks. Provide leadership and support to depot personnel, ensuring the team understands daily priorities, expected productivity levels, quality requirements and safe working practices. Identify training and competency requirements within the depot team and ensure personnel are suitably trained for their assigned activities.Qualification RequirementsEducation Associate's degree, trade certification, or diploma in logistics, warehouse management, mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field.Experience Minimum of 5 years' experience in depot, warehouse, workshop, logistics or heavy equipment support operations. Proven experience in team supervision and day-to-day operational scheduling. Experience in inventory and stock management, preferably involving technical or heavy equipment accessories. Experience coordinating repair, maintenance or refurbishment activities is preferred.Essential Skills Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage changing priorities. Good understanding of stock control, inventory accuracy and material handling practices. Ability to coordinate and schedule a multi-skilled team effectively. Good understanding of HSE requirements for depot, lifting, storage and material-handling activities. Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP or inventory management systems. Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills. Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and housekeeping standards.
