Essence Innovation focuses on data ownership and control, helping users unlock the full potential of their personal health information.Role Description The Deputy Chief Technology Officer at Essence Innovation will support the strategic leadership of the technology function, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of the company’s health application and related platforms. This full-time, on-site role in Chandigarh, India involves guiding software engineering teams, collaborating with product and business stakeholders, and ensuring that technical solutions align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising software development and architecture decisions, managing technology projects and roadmaps, and contributing to the long-term IT strategy. The Deputy CTO will also drive innovation, promote best practices in security and scalability, mentor technical leaders, and help maintain a high-performance and inclusive engineering culture.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and Product Development, with experience building scalable, secure, and user-centered applications.Candidates should possess skills in IT Strategy and Architecture, including designing robust system architectures and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.Candidates should possess skills in Project Management, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets, and deliver complex technology projects.Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, data security, and privacy practices relevant to healthcare or regulated industries is highly beneficial.Experience in AI/ML-driven products, health-tech or digital health solutions, and interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7) is an advantage.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.Demonstrated leadership experience in senior technology roles, ideally in product-based companies; a graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
