Location: Turbhe (Navi Mumbai)What you become a part of:Deputy General Manager will be leading the strategic procurement of third-party products across domestic and international markets, ensuring competitive cost, quality, supply continuity, and timely availability to meet business and production requirements.

Drive supplier development, alternate sourcing, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing initiatives across India, China, Africa, and Kenya.What to expect:Strategic Procurement & SourcingDevelop and execute the third-party procurement strategy aligned with business, production, and commercial requirements.Lead sourcing of third-party products from India, China, Africa, Kenya, and other strategic markets.Ensure timely availability of products to support monthly production/cycle plans across all LL units.Evaluate sourcing options and lead Make-or-Buy decisions based on cost, quality, capacity, lead time, and business requirements.Supplier Management & NegotiationLead commercial negotiations with approved suppliers to achieve the optimum balance of price, quality, availability, and service.Develop and maintain a strong supplier base, including identification and qualification of alternate/competitive suppliers.Monitor supplier performance, pricing, lead times, quality, and supply continuity.Establish strategic supplier relationships and negotiate long-term commercial agreements where appropriate.Cost Optimization & SavingsDrive annual cost reduction and procurement savings targets.Lead costing-based negotiations, market benchmarking, and should-cost analysis to ensure competitive procurement.Identify, monitor, and conclude cost-saving and value-engineering projects.Evaluate opportunities for direct sourcing, alternate markets, consolidation, and improved commercial terms.Partner with Finance to validate and track procurement savings.International & Third-Party SourcingDrive effective sourcing from Africa TP and Kenya TP, ensuring competitiveness and supply reliability.Evaluate and develop sourcing opportunities from India and China.Track international market trends, supplier capabilities, pricing movements, and sourcing risks.Assess geopolitical, regulatory, logistics, and supply risks impacting third-party procurement.Business & Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Finance, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, and Manufacturing teams to align procurement with business requirements.Ensure procurement decisions support product profitability, production plans, inventory optimization, and business growth.Provide regular procurement MIS, savings reports, supplier performance updates, and market intelligence to senior management.Team Leadership & GovernanceLead, mentor, and develop the third-party procurement team.Establish procurement processes, governance, supplier evaluation mechanisms, and performance metrics.Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, approved supplier processes, and financial controls.Drive continuous improvement and digitalization of procurement processes.Qualifications & ExperienceGraduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Commerce, or related discipline; MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain/Procurement preferred.12–18 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain, preferably in pharma.Strong experience in third-party procurement, international sourcing, supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and alternate supplier development.Experience in India/China sourcing and Africa/Kenya markets will be highly preferred.Key CompetenciesStrategic Sourcing & ProcurementThird-Party Vendor ManagementInternational SourcingCommercial & Costing ExpertiseSupplier NegotiationCost Reduction & Value EngineeringMake-or-Buy AnalysisSupplier DevelopmentMarket IntelligenceRisk & Supply Continuity ManagementStakeholder ManagementTeam LeadershipKey KPIsAnnual procurement cost savings / cost avoidanceThird-party product availability and on-time supplySupplier performance and service levelsProcurement cost competitivenessAlternate supplier developmentMake-or-Buy and sourcing optimizationSavings from India/China/Africa/Kenya sourcingSupplier quality and supply continuityProcurement compliance and process efficiency
