Deputy Manager – Ocean Export Operations

Job PurposeTo lead and manage Ocean Freight Operations across the assigned region, ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, cost efficiency, profitability, and effective team performance.Key Responsibilities:Manage Ocean Export operations across all branches in the assigned region.Ensure timely and accurate shipment execution, documentation, billing, and file closure.Monitor regional KPIs, productivity, revenue, GP, costs, and operational performance.Drive process standardization, SOP compliance, and continuous improvement.Manage relationships with shipping lines, vendors, CFS, transporters, and overseas agents.Handle critical customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of service issues.Work closely with Sales and KAM teams to support customer retention and business growth.Identify and control revenue leakages, operational losses, claims, and unnecessary costs.Provide regular operational MIS and performance updates to Senior Management.Cualifications & Experience:Graduate in any discipline; qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain/International Trade will be an advantage.6–10 years of relevant experience in Ocean Export Operations, preferably within a freight forwarding.Strong knowledge of ocean export documentation and shipping processes.Good understanding of shipping lines, Incoterms, BL procedures, and export compliance.Prior experience in team handling and operational supervision is preferred.Core Competencies:Strong operational and problem-solving skills.Customer-focused approach.Team leadership and people-management skills.Excellent coordination and communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.Strong attention to detail and process orientation.Good working knowledge of MS Office and freight forwarding systems.
