Procurement & Purchase ManagementManage end-to-end procurement activities for PEB, engineering and manufacturing requirements.Prepare and execute procurement plans based on production schedules, project requirements and inventory levels.Source and purchase structural steel, plates, coils, sections, fabrication consumables, fasteners, roofing and cladding materials, insulation materials, hardware, electrical items, mechanical items, tools and other engineering materials.Procure plant consumables, maintenance spares, PPE, safety items, office/admin requirements and other indirect materials.Float enquiries/RFQs, obtain quotations and prepare comparative statements.Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, capacity, payment terms and service support.Negotiate prices, payment terms, credit periods, freight and other commercial conditions.Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements and company procedures.Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.B. Vendor ManagementIdentify, evaluate and develop new vendors and suppliers.Maintain and periodically review the approved vendor list.Conduct vendor performance evaluations based on quality, cost and delivery.Develop alternate sources for critical and high-value materials.Maintain strong professional relationships with key suppliers.Resolve supplier-related issues concerning quality, delivery, pricing and payments in coordination with concerned departments.C. Cost Control & Commercial ManagementAchieve cost savings through effective negotiation and strategic sourcing.Monitor market prices of steel, engineering materials and other major commodities.Conduct regular price comparisons and market surveys.Negotiate annual rate contracts wherever applicable.Analyze total procurement cost including freight, taxes, transportation and other associated costs.Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering and alternate materials/suppliers.D. Material Planning & Inventory ControlCoordinate with Production, Projects, Planning, Stores, Engineering, Maintenance and Finance departments to understand material requirements.Ensure availability of materials without affecting production or project schedules.Monitor stock levels and avoid both stock-outs and excess inventory.Coordinate with Stores for receipt, inspection and proper documentation of purchased materials.Monitor slow-moving and non-moving inventory and support corrective action.E. PEB / Structural Steel ProcurementHandle procurement of structural steel materials such as HR plates, coils, beams, channels, angles, hollow sections and other steel sections.Coordinate procurement based on approved BOM, MTO and project requirements.Ensure materials conform to required specifications, grades, dimensions and quality standards.Coordinate with QA/QC for material inspection, test certificates and quality documentation.Manage procurement of roofing/cladding sheets, insulation, fasteners, accessories and other PEB components.Coordinate with project and production teams to ensure materials are available as per project schedules.F. Purchase Documentation & ERPEnsure proper documentation for all purchase transactions.Maintain RFQs, quotations, comparative statements, POs, delivery schedules and supplier records.Ensure purchase transactions are properly entered and monitored through ERP/SAP or other procurement systems.Track open POs and pending deliveries.Prepare MIS reports related to procurement, savings, pending orders, vendor performance and material status.G. Coordination & Team ManagementLead and supervise the Purchase/Procurement team.Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.Coordinate closely with Production, Projects, Planning, Stores, QA/QC, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance and Management.Participate in project review meetings and provide procurement status updates.Escalate critical material shortages, price increases and supplier issues to management on time.2. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)On-time material availability.Purchase cost reduction / savings.Vendor delivery performance.Vendor quality performance.Reduction in procurement lead time.Inventory optimization.Development of alternate vendors.Reduction in emergency purchases.Compliance with approved purchase procedures.Accuracy and timeliness of purchase documentation.Supplier payment and commercial issue resolution.3. Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of engineering and industrial procurement.Good understanding of structural steel and PEB materials preferred.Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.Knowledge of market trends and material pricing.Good analytical and commercial skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet project/production deadlines.Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/SAP and procurement systems.Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.Ability to lead and manage a procurement team.4. Preferred ExperienceCandidates with experience in any of the following sectors will be preferred:Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB)Structural Steel FabricationSteel ManufacturingEngineering ManufacturingConstruction / InfrastructureAutomobile / Auto ComponentsHeavy EngineeringIndustrial ProjectsEPC / Project ProcurementExperience: 8–15 Years in any PEB or Engineering ManfacturingQualification: B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Civil / Production / Engineering or MBA/PG in Supply Chain / Procurement preferred.
