Joining the team provides exposure to a wide range of dermatologic and cosmetic procedures in a busy urban setting.Role Description The Dermatology Medical Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role supports dermatologists and other clinicians by preparing exam rooms, assisting with dermatologic procedures, and ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout their visit. Daily responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, updating electronic medical records, and managing clinical supplies and instruments. The Medical Assistant helps with patient scheduling, follow-up instructions, and coordination of laboratory tests, biopsies, and treatments. The role also involves maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control protocols, and supporting front-desk staff as needed to ensure efficient patient flow.Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Medical Assisting, including supporting clinical procedures, preparing patients, and assisting providers during dermatologic treatments.Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology, particularly dermatology-related terms, to accurately communicate and document clinical information.Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including coordinating appointments, handling patient inquiries, and collaborating with clinical and administrative staff.Candidates should possess strong Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and clear communication in a diverse patient population.Candidates should possess proficiency in handling Medical Records, including accurate charting in electronic health record (EHR) systems and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.Formal training as a Medical Assistant; certification (CMA, RMA or equivalent) is preferred.Previous experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, or a related specialty is beneficial.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Ability to stand for extended periods, follow clinical protocols, and adhere to safety and infection control standards.Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
