Assist the project management team in the preliminary execution stage of projects and ensure competitive pricing of tenders to maximize sales and the growth of SEWKey Responsibilities & Authority :- Develop detailed designs for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, skids, and packages, ensuring compliance with ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2. This includes defining materials, thickness, support structures, nozzles, and more.Perform code calculations for stress analysis, material selection, and other critical design parameters, ensuring designs adhere to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).Prepare and review technical documents, drawings, and specifications in compliance with ASME and company standards.Design, direct, and coordinate all project-related activities, including fabrication, assembly, inspection, and testing, while ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and profit margins.Review contract/tender documentation with the Engineering Manager, ensuring comprehensive understanding, and lead the development of project plans.Coordinate with internal departments and sub-contractors for engineering deliverables such as design calculations, project schedules, method statements, ITPs, WPS, PQRs, and other related documents.Prepare Material Take-Off (MTO) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS) for projects.Represent SEW in front of clients and third-party organizations, including during ASME audits.Liaise with clients and third parties to ensure engineering deliverables meet specifications and obtain necessary approvals.Proactively identify project bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to ensure progress.Prepare and manage technical queries, discuss them with the estimation team, and clarify with the client when needed.Oversee or assist in the inspection of pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and other components, ensuring they meet ASME standards.Ensure that non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as radiographic, ultrasonic, and hydro testing are conducted as per project requirements.Maintain detailed records of design calculations, inspections, and project tasks, ensuring all documentation is available for audits and future reference.Utilize specialized design and analysis tools such as PV Elite, COMPRESS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, and HTRI for engineering calculations, modeling, and project management.Engage in research and development initiatives to improve designs, reduce costs, and enhance safety and efficiency.Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to equipment design and ASME compliance.Act as a PRC and represent SEW in front of ASME during audits.Ensure full compliance with ASME and other related audits, addressing any non-compliance issues promptly.Monitor the performance of the SEW construction/installation team and participate in post-project reviews to identify learning opportunities.Assist with project estimation, tendering, and project planning during the tender stage.Coordinate with clients and third parties for seamless execution of deliverables.Specialized Knowledge :- In-depth knowledge of ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2 for the design, fabrication, and inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, and skids.Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) and its applications in industrial design projects.Proficient in ANSI, ASTM, API, BS, TEMA, AWWA, NACE, SHELL, NEMA, and other relevant industry standards for mechanical design and fabrication.Expertise in PV Elite, COMPRESS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ANSYS for performing design, stress analysis, and creating 3D models of equipment.Proficiency in HTRI for the thermal design of heat exchangers.Knowledge of MS Project or other planning software for managing timelines and resources.Understanding of various NDT methods such as radiographic, ultrasonic, hydro testing, and their application in pressure vessel and component inspections.Strong understanding of material selection and the impact of stress, temperature, and environmental conditions on materials used in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems.Experience in the estimation and tendering process for pressure vessels, piping systems, and skids, including material take-offs (MTO), technical data sheets (TDS), and cost estimation.Skilled in performing mechanical stress analysis for static and dynamic loads, calculating wall thickness, reinforcement, nozzle placements, and flange ratings as per ASME standards.Ability & Skills :- Ability to work within specific timeframes and deliver results while ensuring project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements are met. Supports the growth of the organization through effective management and control for timely contract completion.Proficient in performing mechanical stress analysis and design calculations for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other equipment. Skilled in the use of specialized software such as PV Elite, COMPRESS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ANSYS.Strong accuracy and attention to detail in preparing designs, technical documents, and reports, ensuring compliance with ASME and industry standards.Proactively identifies and resolves bottlenecks in project progress, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with client expectations.A good communicator, able to work with all levels of the SEW team, external groups, clients, and third parties.
