Applicants can expect a hands-on environment with opportunities to contribute to custom engineering solutions and continuous improvement in machinery performance.Role Description The Design Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Leven. The Design Engineer will create and develop mechanical and hydraulic systems, components, and assemblies, using 3D CAD tools to produce detailed models and drawings. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with maintenance and production teams to improve existing machinery, supporting prototype development and testing, and ensuring designs meet safety, performance, and compliance requirements. The role involves reviewing specifications, preparing technical documentation, resolving design issues on the workshop floor, and contributing to cost-effective, practical engineering solutions. The Design Engineer will participate in project meetings, communicate with suppliers when required, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Design Engineering and Product Design skills for creating practical, reliable machinery solutions.Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering skills to analyse, select, and integrate mechanical and hydraulic components.Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills to produce accurate models, drawings, and documentation.Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering awareness to coordinate mechanical designs with electrical and control systems.Relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical, design, or related engineering discipline.Experience in industrial machinery, hydraulics, or manufacturing environments is beneficial.Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and safety regulations.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a workshop and office setting.Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
