Design Engineer

Job Responsibilities:Execute all design and engineering activities within the company.Play significant role in new designs from the concept stage to the development of prototypes through to finished products ready for manufactureEnsure design projects are completed on time and within budget.Implement design processes andbest practices to improve efficiency and quality.Collaborate withother departments to ensuredesign requirements are met.Conduct research and development to stay current with industry advancements.Maintain design and engineering documentation.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Create a range of 3D models for a few proposal/production and development systems, products, and components using CADResponsibility for the handling of all design and engineering documentation including Request forDesign freeze/release, DesignFailureMode Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), DesignVerification/Product Validation (DV & PV) testing.Present design, costs, changes and budgetary information effectively to senior members and customers and provide regular progress updatesLiaise closely with all departments to fully understand design requirementsManage customer relationships and handle customer inquiries related to design anddevelopment.Provide technical support to manufacturing, salesand customer servicedepartments.Competencies:TechnicalExecute and monitor all design and engineering activities within the company.Ensure designprojects are completed on time and within budget.Implement designprocesses and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.Collaborate withother departments to ensure designrequirements are met.Conduct research and development to stay current with industry advancements.Maintain designand engineering documentation.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Manage customer relationships and handlecustomer inquiries relatedto design anddevelopment.Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales and customer service departmentsBehavioralExecution SkillsResearch orientationAnalytical abilityProblem-Solving SkillsAdaptabilityDecision-Making skillsCritical ThinkerQualification:B-Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering /Product Management MastersSkills & Experience:3 to 8 Yearsin Heavy Engineering CompaniesExperience in New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through productionExperience in managing a teamExperience in testing and prototyping
