Design Engineer

The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and improvement of products and components from concept through production. This role applies engineering principles, CAD tools, and cross functional collaboration to ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, safety, and manufacturability requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop new products, components, or systems based on customer requirements, internal specifications, and applicable standardsCreate and maintain detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD softwarePerform engineering analysesSupport prototype builds, testing, and design verification and validation activitiesCollaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and operations to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effectiveParticipate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve product performance and reliabilityManage engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs) and maintain accurate documentationSupport continuous improvement, cost reduction, and standardization standardsEnsure compliance with applicable standards, safety regulations, and company proceduresProvide technical support to internal teams, customers, or suppliersIdentify opportunities for improvement within department processAttend training sessions regularly to continue professional growth and developmentQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field2+ years of design engineering experienceProficiency with CAD software and engineering documentation standards (SolidWorks experience preferred)Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
