Design Engineer III

Buyers Products Company, a leading manufacturer in the work truck industry, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop and design innovative products from concept through production, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and support the continued improvement of products and manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in transforming customer and business needs into practical, high-quality engineering solutions.The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical engineering background, experience designing products for manufacturing, and a passion for solving technical challenges. If you enjoy developing new products, working with cross-functional teams, and seeing your designs come to life, we'd like to hear from you.What You Will DoDevelop and design products from concept to production – working with internal and external customers as required.Design mechanical assemblies, weldments, castings, forgings, plastic and Sheetmetal components using PTC Creo.Provide engineering support for existing products at the manufacturing facility.Develop and implement product and process improvements.Assessing a design brief to gauge the design requirements.Conducting and/or using research on user experience and needs, current market trends and general functionality.Developing solutions that solve user problems.Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations.Skills & ExperienceAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and technical procedures.Ability to write extensive reports.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a group of supervisors and/or management personnel or on a one-on-one situation with employees of the organization.Education BackgroundB.S. from an accredited college in mechanical engineering5 years of experience in design w/emphasis on sheet metalSolid modeling experience requiredPhysical Requirements and Work EnvironmentMobility and dexterity to move around office settings including accessing file cabinets or storage and navigating to different workstations.Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time and engage in some repetitive motion.Standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time.What We OfferWe believe in rewarding our employees for their hard work and commitment.
