Apply & track with Apply EdgeMar Recruitment & Consulting, a specialized consultancy within the maritime and logistics sector, is currently seeking a Design Engineer for a position based in Mallorca, to join a leading international marine services provider specialized in the maintenance and repair of sailing yachts and superyachts.Your Role:As a Design Engineer, you will contribute to the development of engineering solutions for marine service projects and customers.You will be involved in design activities, technical drawings and documentation, while developing your knowledge of composite engineering, manufacturing and repair.You will work closely with technical and service teams to analyse engineering requirements, develop practical solutions and provide technical support throughout different projects.The position also includes occasional direct contact with customers, providing technical support and helping identify suitable technical solutions, services or upgrades.
Main Responsibilities
Support the engineering and design team with design-related activities.Develop composite and mechanical engineering solutions for marine service projects.Prepare technical drawings, descriptions and documentation.Provide technical support to customers and service teams.Analyse technical requirements and develop appropriate engineering solutions.Support composite manufacturing and repair activities.Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering design systems and processes.Work closely with technical, engineering and service teams.Communicate directly with customers when required.Contribute to the development of new technical solutions and service upgrades.Keep up to date with developments in composite engineering and marine technology.What we are looking for:University degree in Engineering (BEng, BSc or equivalent).Minimum 2 years' experience in composite and/or mechanical design engineering.Fluent or professionally proficient English.Experience with composite engineering and manufacturing.Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software.Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), such as SolidWorks Simulation or similar.Engineering problem-solving skills.Knowledge of metal technology.Experience in the marine industry or a similar technical environment will be highly valued.Experience in composite manufacturing and/or repair will be considered a strong advantage.Additional skilss Valued: Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:VBA and/or Python.Multiframe.Additive manufacturing / 3D printing.Non-destructive and destructive testing.Advanced composite engineering.
