Your New CompanyThis opportunity is with a leading energy infrastructure organisation delivering complex high voltage and renewable energy projects across Australia, including substations, associated HV infrastructure and BESS.With a strong pipeline of projects, the business is continuing to grow its design and engineering capability and is looking for a technically strong electrical professional to take a lead role across project design and delivery.Your New Role.As the Design Manager, you will provide technical leadership across the design and delivery of HV substation projects, working closely with internal project teams, external engineering consultants and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.You will provide technical input from the pre-sales stage, oversee design delivery, coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, manage external consultants and provide technical support through construction, commissioning and energisation.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical input to sales and tender teams, covering design, scope and constructabilityOwn the end-to-end design delivery of HV substation projects, from early design through to completionCoordinate civil, structural, primary and secondary disciplines to ensure technical accuracy and constructabilityManage internal design teams, external consultants and OEMs, aligning design, procurement and technical requirementsAttend meetings with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal management to negotiate requirements and resolve design issuesOwn the design programme alongside the Project Manager, managing interfaces, deliverables and schedule through to completionYour ExperienceTo succeed in this role, you will bring:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering5-10 years of relevant engineering experience with strong HV substation exposureExperience in EHV substation design, with projects at 110kV and aboveStrong understanding of substation design, engineering standards and technical specificationsExperience leading design teams, managing external consultants and supporting end-to-end project deliveryStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teamsIf this opportunity aligns with your background, Apply or contact Sefa Prasad on 0483 945 772 for a confidential discussion.
