Design Team Lead (Aluminum Manufacturing)

Key ResponsibilitiesLead, supervise, and manage the design team to ensure timely and accurate completion of all design deliverables.Review and oversee the preparation of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, installation details, and technical submissions for aluminum facade systems.Ensure all drawings comply with architectural and structural requirements, project specifications, applicable codes, and client standards.Coordinate with Project Managers, Design Managers, Structural Engineers, BIM Modelers, Production, Procurement, and Site Teams to resolve technical issues.Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify design discrepancies and propose appropriate technical solutions.Manage design schedules, workload distribution, priorities, and deliverable deadlines.Conduct quality checks and design reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, material optimization, and compliance with approved designs.Provide technical guidance and support to designers, draftsmen, and BIM Modelers.Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding technical clarifications, design revisions, and drawing approvals.Ensure proper incorporation of approved material specifications, system details, hardware, aluminum profiles, and fabrication requirements into design documentation.Monitor design revisions and maintain proper documentation and version control.Support the production team by providing accurate fabrication details, cutting lists, material take-offs, and other required technical information.Identify design-related risks, resolve technical challenges, and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce material wastage.Ensure compliance with company quality standards, health and safety requirements, and established design procedures.Prepare regular progress reports on design deliverables, pending approvals, team performance, and project requirements.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in aluminum facade, architectural aluminum, curtain wall systems, or facade design and manufacturing.At least 3–5 years of experience in a design leadership or team management role.Proven experience in managing design teams for facade or aluminum manufacturing projects.Strong knowledge of aluminum facade systems, curtain walls, windows, doors, cladding systems, and related components.Experience in preparing and reviewing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details.UAE or GCC experience in aluminum facade or construction projects is highly preferred.
