Tilt Shift Design offers applicants the chance to contribute to thoughtful, purpose-driven projects that balance utility with creativity.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Designer/Drafter role based in Bellingham, WA. The Designer/Drafter will translate conceptual designs into detailed drawings and documentation for fabrication and construction. Daily responsibilities include developing 2D and 3D design plans, preparing technical drawings and specifications, and revising drawings based on feedback from project leads and clients. The role involves collaborating with designers and fabricators, coordinating measurements and materials, and ensuring drawings align with project timelines and quality standards. The Designer/Drafter will also help maintain organized design files, support design reviews, and contribute creative ideas that enhance both usability and visual impact.Qualifications-Strong drafting and design skills using industry-standard CAD and 3D modeling tools (Rhino experience preferred, but open to other software).-Ability to interpret sketches, design briefs, and technical information and convert them into clear construction or fabrication drawings.-Understanding of materials, basic structural principles, and fabrication or construction processes.-Attention to detail in dimensioning, tolerances, documentation, and file organization.-Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with designers, fabricators, and clients.-Problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance aesthetics, function, and feasibility.-Experience in architectural, interior, product, or environmental design is beneficial.-Relevant education or training in design, drafting, architecture, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.-Portfolio demonstrating functional, user-centered design work and clear design thinking.
