Designer/Drafter

Overall Purpose: The Designer/Drafter is responsible for the preparation of mechanical engineering drawings in accordance with a drafting request.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Create and revise fully dimensioned Detail Part drawings, Top Assembly drawings and Tooling drawings from rough product designs while ensuring adherence to established specifications and standardsCreate and modify 3D modelsConfer with engineering staff and prepare design modifications as requiredAdhere to 5S StandardsAdhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safetyOther Duties:Other duties based on the needs of the Engineering DepartmentThe preceding functions have been provided as examples of the type of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments and to make reasonable accommodations as needed.Qualification Requirements: High School education or equivalentAssociate of Arts (AA) Degree in a related field preferred2+ years of experience as a Drafter in structural or mechanical designCAD experience in 2D drafting using Creo Elements/Direct Drafting (or similar) and 3D modeling using Solidworks (or similar)Knowledge of GD & T preferredGood writing and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsFluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)Physical Demands:While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to:SitUse hands and fingers to handle, type or feelReach with hands and armsSpeak or hearWhile performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to:StandWalkWork Environment: Office environmentMust be a U.S. Person based on ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
