DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Inspired by the life and Theology of St. John Paul II, these leaders are equipped to become Christ-centered, pure of heart, joy-filled agents of change, in the city and out of the city, in this country and around the world.POSITION SUMMARYThe Development Director leads Corazón Puro's fundraising strategy and donor relationships, with the goal of building a healthy, diversified funding base to sustain and grow CP's mission. This is a season of transition and growth for CP's development operations; the Director will lead the migration from Pushpay to Bloomerang, strengthen our grants pipeline, deepen relationships with missionary partners, and grow monthly giving. The role requires someone who can build genuine relationships with donors and partners while bringing rigor to systems, reporting, and planning.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESDonor Development & Monthly Giving

• Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual and institutional donors and sponsors.
• Design and lead strategies to grow CP's monthly/recurring donor program as a core, sustainable revenue stream.
• Establish and maintain warm, consistent communication with individual and business donors.
• Meet regularly with the Executive Director and senior leadership to align fundraising priorities with organizational needs.
• Work closely with CP's Founder on the transition and ongoing stewardship of legacy donor relationships, progressively assuming primary relationship management as those relationships are handed off.Fundraising Events & Campaigns
• Lead the strategy, revenue goals, and donor-cultivation plan for CP's fundraising events, including sponsorship solicitation and post-event follow-up; event logistics and on-site execution are supported by staff, volunteers, or contracted vendors.
• Design and lead CP's annual giving campaigns — including the year-end appeal, giving days, and special appeals — setting revenue targets and coordinating messaging across email, print, and social channels.
• Partner with the program team and graphic designer to produce event and campaign materials, and with the Executive Director to identify event sponsors and host committees.Donor Systems & Data Transition (Pushpay → Bloomerang)
• Lead the full migration of donor data and giving history from Pushpay to Bloomerang, ensuring accuracy and continuity of donor records.
• Establish Bloomerang workflows for gift entry, acknowledgment letters, donor segmentation, and reporting.
• Train relevant staff and volunteers on Bloomerang and serve as CP's primary point person for the platform going forward.
• Review data-collection methods across development operations and recommend improvements.Grant Strategy & Oversight of Outside Grant Consultants
• Set CP's overall grant strategy: which funders to pursue, how grant revenue fits the broader diversification plan.
• Serve as CP's primary point of contact and supervisor for any contracted grant-writing agency or consultant, including scoping the engagement, reviewing and approving the contract or SOW, and setting deliverables and deadlines.
• Review and approve all consultant-drafted proposals, budgets, and reports before submission to ensure they reflect CP's mission and vision, and current program data.
• Monitor the consultant's prospect research and grant calendar; hold regular check-ins to track the pipeline of prospective and submitted grants.
• Evaluate the consultant relationship against agreed KPIs (proposals submitted, win rate, dollars raised relative to fees paid) and bring renewal or termination recommendations to the Executive Director.Communications & Newsletter
• Build and maintain a content calendar for donor newsletters and fundraising communications, working cross-functionally with the program team and graphic designer to gather content and produce final materials.
• Develop print and digital marketing materials that support fundraising efforts, in partnership with the graphic designer.
• Review fundraising and communications materials and offer recommendations to strengthen messaging.Missionary Partner Relations
• Serve as a point of connection between CP and its missionary partners, supporting their fundraising and communication needs.
• Coordinate with missionary partners on reporting, donor updates, and shared fundraising initiatives.Reporting & Sustainability
• Submit regular development reports to the Executive Director and Fiscal Officer.
• Create post-event reports analyzing results and marketing effectiveness.
• Assist in creating a sustainable, diversified model for revenue growth, reducing reliance on any single funding source.
• Assist in the creation of surveys and other metrics to measure program and fundraising effectiveness.
• Establish a consistent process for gathering data from affiliates and events, ensuring accurate, timely input for the annual report.QUALIFICATIONS:
• Committed to living and articulating the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
• Superior writing skills, with experience writing grant proposals and reports, including experience coordinating collaborative, multi-author proposals to deadline.
• Experience with donor management/CRM systems; experience with Pushpay, Bloomerang, or similar platforms strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success building or growing a monthly/recurring giving program.
• Strong leadership experience and ability to work cohesively across teams.
• Strong social and interpersonal skills; comfortable representing CP with donors, partners, and Church leaders.
• Independent worker and thinker who can provide both vision and execution.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
• Able to articulate the vision and mission of Corazón Puro and its programs with excellence.EMPLOYMENT SPECIFICATIONS
• This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
• Employee will participate in quarterly performance evaluations with the Executive Director.
• Performance will be evaluated against development goals set annually with the Executive Director, which may include total revenue raised, growth in monthly/recurring donors, number of grant submissions and award rate, donor retention, and completion of the Bloomerang transition.
• Employee is subject to a three-month provisional period. Completion of the provisional period does not change the at-will nature of employment described below, and does not create a contract of employment or any guarantee of continued employment.
