Apply & track with Apply EdgeDevelopment Engineer – PowertrainPosition OverviewOur team is currently looking for a Development Engineer – Powertrain for one of our clients in the Automotive Industry.Responsibilities & Essential DutiesDevelop engineering plans for new powertrain concepts, systems, and component development.Support the full product development lifecycle from initial concept through testing, validation, and production.Develop and execute test and validation activities required to meet project and performance objectives.Create detailed test plans, procedures, and engineering documentation.Perform powertrain development and testing activities using appropriate test equipment and instrumentation.Collect, process, and analyze test data to evaluate system and component performance.Identify technical issues during development and support troubleshooting and problem resolution.Work with engineering teams to evaluate test results and recommend appropriate design or development actions.Support powertrain and component validation to ensure established performance and durability requirements are achieved.Prepare technical reports and communicate development and test results to engineering teams and project stakeholders.Perform other engineering duties as required to support development programs.Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)B.S. degree or equivalent relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in powertrain development and testing.Experience with internal combustion engines and/or electrified powertrain systems.Strong engineering foundation in areas such as thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.Hands-on experience with test planning, procedure development, data acquisition, and engineering data analysis.Experience with powertrain or chassis dynamometer testing is highly desirable.Familiarity with data logging hardware, software, and test instrumentation.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Ability to accurately interpret test data and apply engineering principles to development activities.Ability to communicate technical information effectively in both written and verbal formats to technical and non-technical audiences.Comfortable working independently and within a team-based engineering environment.Ability to organize and document engineering activities, test results, and technical findings.
