Role: Development EngineerJob Type: Contract (12 Months)PayScale: £46/Hourly / Inside IR35 Location: StaffordKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful applicants must be flexible as the role involves working on a wide variety of projects within a small multi skilled team.Diesel Engine Performance evaluation and understanding of engine healthMechanical verification and validation of engine components and systemsDefining and managing component validation plansGeneration of test cycles, instrumentation requirements, boundary conditions and acceptance criteriaCoordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activityFailure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methodsTechnical reportingConducting all work operating procedures and local work methods to meet compliance with quality standardsSupport to the design function is required through FMEA attendanceThe role will require collaboration with all platform teams based at the Stafford facilityOccasional overseas travel may be necessary as required by business needsKEY COMPETENCIES:Data Analysis and ReportingDecision MakingFocus on QualityPlanning and OrganisingInitiating ActionInnovationProject LeadershipExcellent Communication at all levelsEffective TeamworkQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Essential:Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).Minimum 3 years' experience in product validation, verification, testing, or development engineering.Experience creating validation plans, test procedures, and technical reports.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with root cause analysis methodologies. E.g. 8D, DMAIC/DEMDI/6σ, etcExperience interpreting and analysing test data.Understanding of engineering validation and verification processes.Experience validating product performance against Product or Technical Objectives.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.High standard of written technical reportingDiesel engine component validation experienceWorking knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems such as cooling, lubrication, air etc…Desirable: Experience in diesel engines, power systems, automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or power generation products.Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, Plato, E1NS, Farevo, or equivalent engineering tools.Experience with high-speed data acquisition and instrumentation systems.Knowledge of CAN-based data acquisition tools such as CANape or similar platforms.Experience conducting durability, performance, emissions, vibration, or robustness testing.
