DevOps Engineer – Private Investment FundNew York, NY | Full-TimeAbout the ClientThe firm operates a lean, entrepreneurial platform focused on providing creative and structured financing solutions to micro-, small-, and mid-cap U.S. public companies.The investment strategy is opportunistic and situation-driven, with significant activity across healthcare/biotech and technology.The RoleThe DevOps Engineer will report to the Head of AI and Software Engineer and take primary responsibility for the infrastructure, deployment, reliability, security, and automation underlying the firm's applications, AI tools, and data environment.What You'll DoBuild and maintain the cloud infrastructure supporting the firm's internal applications, AI systems, data workflows, and investment technologyPartner closely with the Head of AI and Software Engineer to take new applications and tools from development into reliable production environmentsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for internal software and AI applicationsAutomate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, configuration, monitoring, and recurring operational processesDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar technologiesSupport cloud-based data pipelines, databases, APIs, and application servicesContainerize and deploy applications using Docker and related technologiesEstablish monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across the technology environmentMonitor production systems and rapidly troubleshoot infrastructure, application, networking, and performance issuesBuild appropriate development, testing, staging, and production environmentsImplement best practices around IAM, secrets management, encryption, access controls, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuityHelp establish engineering standards around deployment, testing, change management, documentation, and production supportImprove the scalability and resiliency of systems supporting investment research, data analysis, portfolio workflows, and firm operationsEvaluate new cloud, infrastructure, developer, and AI-platform technologies as the firm's technology stack evolvesIdentify manual or fragile processes throughout the organization and automate them wherever possibleWhat We're Looking For3–7 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure EngineeringStrong hands-on experience with AWSExperience building and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code frameworkStrong understanding of CI/CD architecture and deployment automationExperience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar technologiesFamiliarity with Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, or other container orchestration technologiesStrong Linux administration and production troubleshooting skillsProficiency with Python and/or Bash for infrastructure automationExperience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similarUnderstanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/TLS, VPNs, load balancing, and cloud networkingStrong understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and least-privilege accessExperience supporting databases, APIs, data pipelines, and production application environmentsAbility to independently diagnose and resolve production issues
