Our team is solving the world's toughest security challenges for customers with "can't fail" missions.Centurion is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Software Engineer Master position for the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract. The ideal candidate will have deep experience architecting and leading development on complex systems. This position is located near Lackland Air Force Base; all work is onsite.Primary Responsibilities:

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deployments, services, ingress, persistent storage, namespaces, troubleshooting pods, and diagnosing cluster/application issues.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Helm charts, including templating, values management, dependency management, and deploying applications across multiple environments.
• Experience with containerized application development and deployment, including Docker, container images, registries, image lifecycle management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, security scanning, packaging, and Kubernetes deployment using GitLab CI/CD or similar technologies.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes networking and service exposure, including DNS, ingress, load balancers, TLS/certificates, and service-to-service communication.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems across application, container, Kubernetes, operating system, storage, and network layers.
• Experience leading technical design and architecture decisions, performing code/design reviews, establishing engineering standards, and mentoring engineers.
• Experience working with disconnected, restricted, or air-gapped environments is highly desirable, including management of internally hosted container images, Helm charts, software dependencies, and update packages.
• Design and implement object-oriented architecture patterns to improve code modularity, reusability, and maintainability across front-end and back-end systems.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers on writing, best practices, clean coding data structures, and object-oriented design principles.
• Communicate with Product Managers to classify minimum viable product requirements and clearly defined feature sets into well-scoped user stories for individual team members.
• Lead daily planning among engineers, DevOps and Scrum leaders to ensure timelines are consistently being met.
• Utilize tools to create stress test profiles and to ensure Kubernetes stands pods up as needed.
• Combine CI/CD pipeline steps allowing for parallel job completion and reduced execution time.
• Create scripts to export baseline operation times for both virtual and hardware to be used during e2e testing.
• Author and maintain Terraform configurations to provision, manage, and version-control infrastructure as code across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Use of Python for creating specific OS reports based upon what is currently installed on Linux and Windows servers, as well as parsing captured IP packet reports as needed by the customer.
• Administer and harden Linux systems (Red Hat/Rocky Linux), including performance tuning, scripting, and system-level troubleshooting.
• Correct Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) as necessary in various servers per Military requirements.
• Use of GIT to push updates to military units in a timely fashion.
• Create update scripts specific for fielded releases that require various specific updates.
• Re-write Python scripts to get GIT Pipeline to run faster and more efficiently.
• Implement and enforce security scanning (SAST/DAST, container image scanning) as part of the CI/CD pipeline to catch vulnerabilities before deployment.
• Support STIG compliance and hardening efforts across Linux servers and containerized workloads in accordance with DoD/Military security requirements.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies across development, test, and production environments to ensure consistency and repeatability.
• Support migration or modernization of legacy systems into cloud-native or containerized architectures.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to proactively identify and resolve system issues.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline with 10+ years of prior relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating mastery-level expertise).
• Currently possessing DoD 8140 certification at or above IAT level II, e.g. Security+ CE.
• US Citizen with at least a Secret Clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret SCI.
• Extensive software development experience involving COTS/GOTS integration.
• Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented architecture and design principles (e.g., SOLID, design patterns) applied to large-scale, mission-critical systems.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code and automated environment provisioning.
• Strong, hands-on proficiency with Linux system administration (Red Hat Linux or Rocky Linux), including shell scripting and troubleshooting.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot complex technical issues and design effective, scalable solutions.
• Possess effective communication and be able to collaborate with customers, cross-functional teams, document technical processes, and present solutions to stakeholders and leadership.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks effectively, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Possess the ability to adapt to and champion new technologies, methodologies, and environments.
• Deep knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices.
• Familiar with Git/GitLab or other source code control tools.
• Familiar with team collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
• DoD 8140 certification at or above IAT level II.Clearance Level Required:Secret (With the ability to obtain a Top-Secret SCI)
