Diesel Engine Validation EngineerStafford (site based)12 Month Contract (likely to be extended)37 Hours a week Monday – Friday (1pm finish on a Friday)Up to £34.60p/h PAYE plus holiday and pension contribution OR up to £46.96p/h UmbrellaThe Diesel Engine Validation Engineer will be responsible for planning and delivering engineering activity as part of the Diesel Performance, Emissions and Validation Group. This involves engine validation, analysing data and trends, root cause corrective action and evaluation of corrective actions.What the Diesel Engine Validation Engineer will do:Diesel Engine Performance evaluation and understanding of engine healthMechanical verification and validation of engine components and systems Defining and managing component validation plansGeneration of test cycles, instrumentation requirements, boundary conditions and acceptance criteriaCoordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activityFailure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methodsTechnical reportingSupport to the design function is required through FMEA attendanceWhat the Diesel Engine Validation Engineer will need:Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience in product validation, verification, testing, or development engineeringExperience creating validation plans, test procedures, and technical reportsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with root cause analysis methodologies. E.g. 8D, DMAIC etc.Experience interpreting and analysing test dataUnderstanding of engineering validation and verification processesExperience validating product performance against Product or Technical ObjectivesExcellent communication and presentation skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsHigh standard of written technical reportingDiesel engine component validation experienceWorking knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems such as cooling, lubrication, air etc…To apply, please submit a copy of your up to date CV clearly indicating your relevant experience.
