Diesel Service Technician

Company Description BBA Pumps is an international leader in mobile pumps and piping systems with over 70 years of experience serving applications such as dewatering, sewer bypassing, flood control, construction, and general pumping needs. Role Description The Diesel Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in North Charleston, SC, responsible for servicing and maintaining diesel-driven mobile pump systems and related equipment. Typical duties include performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and completing repairs on engines, pumps, and associated components. The technician will conduct field service visits, including system start-ups, inspections, and on-site troubleshooting for customers in a variety of industrial and construction environments. The role involves documenting service activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The Diesel Service Technician also interacts directly with customers, providing clear communication, technical guidance, and professional support to uphold BBA Pumps’ reputation for reliability and quality service.QualificationsStrong Maintenance & Repair skills, including experience with diesel engines, pumps, and related mechanical systems.Proficient in Maintenance planning and execution, including preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the field and workshop.Experience in Field Service work, including on-site diagnostics, repairs, and equipment commissioning.Effective Customer Service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.Relevant technical education or certification in diesel technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.Commitment to workplace safety, environmental standards, and adherence to company procedures.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field service assignments.Previous experience in pump systems, heavy equipment, or industrial service environments is highly beneficial.
