It is well-known for its highly diverse student population and is federally designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).Role DescriptionThis is an on-site part-time contract role for a Dietitian located in Whittier, CA. The hours are flexible with bi-weekly appointments offered at the Health Center for students along with collaboration with other departments (Athletics, Poet Pantry, etc.) for a minimum of 8-12 hours/month. Job is ideal for someone looking for flexible part-time hours where they can create their own programs and events during the academic year. The Dietitian will be responsible for providing nutritional counseling, developing personalized diet plans, conducting nutrition therapy, managing weight loss and health programs, and educating students on proper nutrition. The Dietitian will also evaluate and monitor the dietary needs of individuals, ensuring a healthy campus environment. In addition, the dietitian will collaborate with other departments and their programs/events.QualificationsSkills in Dietetics and Nutritional CounselingExperience in Medical Nutrition Therapy and Weight ManagementKnowledge of general Nutrition principlesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a diverse communityMaster's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related fieldRegistered Dietitian (RD) credential is preferredExperience in a higher education setting is a plus
