Apply & track with Apply EdgeJOB TITLEDigital Art Technology Specialist — Art, Technology & Emerging Media1 PositionABOUT THE JOBDe Art is looking for a Digital Art Technology Specialist to explore the intersection of visual arts, technology, and emerging forms of digital creativity.This role focuses on researching and understanding how technologies such as artificial intelligence, generative art, extended reality, interactive media, digital fabrication, blockchain, and other emerging tools are influencing artistic practices and the way audiences experience art.The successful candidate will help De Art identify meaningful developments in technology-driven art and translate technical and creative concepts into accessible content, research, and digital projects.The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in both art and technology and can communicate emerging technical concepts clearly to artists, creative professionals, and general audiences.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research emerging technologies and their applications in contemporary and digital art.
- Identify artists, studios, projects, and creative practices working at the intersection of art and technology.
- Research developments in generative AI, digital art, XR, interactive media, creative coding, blockchain-based art, and related fields.
- Prepare research briefs, artist profiles, technology explainers, and editorial material for De Art.
- Help the editorial team evaluate emerging technologies and determine their cultural and artistic relevance.
- Explore new formats for presenting technology-driven artworks and creative projects through digital media.
- Collaborate with artists, researchers, editors, designers, and technology professionals on relevant De Art projects.
- Monitor emerging trends in digital creativity and distinguish meaningful artistic developments from short-term technological hype.
- Identify opportunities for interviews, features, thematic series, and special projects related to art and technology.
- Help explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language for audiences with different levels of technical knowledge.
- Maintain organized research materials, references, artist information, and documentation related to technology-driven art.
- Contribute ideas for future digital art projects, experiments, and collaborations.QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Digital Art, Fine Arts, Art History, Computer Science, Media Arts, Design, Technology, Cultural Studies, or a related field.
- Strong interest in the relationship between art, technology, and contemporary culture.
- Familiarity with at least some areas of digital creativity, such as generative AI, creative coding, digital art, XR, interactive media, blockchain, 3D, or digital fabrication.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and explain them clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent English writing and communication skills.
- Strong curiosity about emerging technologies and their cultural implications.
- Ability to evaluate sources and distinguish credible information from marketing claims or unsupported trends.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary creative teams.
- Experience in digital art, creative technology, media, research, technology communication, or cultural projects is an advantage.
- Programming, 3D, AI, XR, blockchain, or other technical skills are welcome but not mandatory.
