Applications from candidates with a broader range of experience will also be considered where their skills and interests align with the role.This role will support the development of internal automation and AI-enabled tools that improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of Premtech’s engineering and business workflows. Working with developers, engineers, and design assurance colleagues, the successful candidate will help turn practical business needs into reliable digital solutions.ResponsibilitiesWith support and mentorship, you will:Assist in building, improving, and maintaining internal automation tools used by engineering and business support teamsContribute to software solutions that streamline engineering and CAD workflowsSupport the integration of AI capabilities into existing internal systemsWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented codeAssist with testing, deployment, and ongoing improvements of internal toolsLearn and follow established development patterns and standardsKeep up to date with modern software development practices and technologiesYou will have:A full UK driving licenceThe right to work in the UK without visa sponsorshipExcellent communication skills, both verbal & writtenGraduate or early-career software developer in a relevant discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent practical experienceExperience with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, C#, JavaScript)Basic knowledge of databases (e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL)Basic understanding of software development fundamentals including cyber security best practicesInterest in automation, problem-solving, and improving workflowsWillingness to learn domain-specific systems (e.g. engineering / CAD tools)Desirable (but not essential):Exposure to scripting, automation, or internal toolingAwareness of AI concepts (e.g. APIs, data processing, basic ML usage)Experience working on small software projects or courseworkExperience working as part of a development team including version control such as GitEqual Opportunity StatementPremtech is committed to diversity and inclusivity and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
