Job Purpose:Build, own and continuously evolve Americana’s enterprise digital learning and content capability across brands and markets. Establish the strategy, operating model, governance, standards, technology-enabled production approach and partnerships required to translate priority business and operational needs into scalable learning and performance solutions. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgement, identifying capability opportunities, diagnosing performance requirements, shaping solutions and driving delivery with limited day-to-day supervision. The role partners with senior stakeholders across Operations, brands, markets, P&C, IT and other functions to prioritise investments, align resources and ensure learning solutions are relevant, accessible and capable of being applied in frontline operating environments. The role is accountable for building a sustainable internal capability for digital learning and content development, improving speed, quality and consistency across markets while reducing unnecessary dependence on external production. While providing enterprise leadership and specialist direction, the role remains hands-on in the design, development and delivery of priority digital learning experiences, multimedia assets, performance-support tools and learning innovations. The role exists to improve access to relevant learning at scale, strengthen workplace capability and application, and contribute to agreed talent, people and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Build, own and continuously evolve Americana’s enterprise digital learning and content capability, including the strategy, operating model, roadmap, standards and service model required to support priority populations across all markets and brands. Act as Americana’s subject-matter authority for digital learning experience design, AI-enabled learning production, educational multimedia and frontline performance support, independently evaluating relevant developments and recommending where Americana should pilot, adopt, scale or discontinue approaches. Work independently with Operations, brands, market P&C, functional leaders and subject-matter experts to diagnose capability and performance requirements, distinguish learning needs from non-learning issues and translate complex operational requirements into scalable solutions. Design end-to-end interventions that connect mobile-first digital content with workplace practice, manager coaching, observation, feedback, assessment and Train the Trainer mechanisms, while remaining hands-on in the scripting, storyboarding, prototyping and production of priority assets. Own the enterprise pipeline of digital learning and content requirements, balancing business urgency, learner impact, operational risk, scalability, resource requirements and strategic value; recommend priorities and trade-offs to the Head of L&D and relevant sponsors. Establish and govern the intake, prioritisation, production, localisation, review, publication, maintenance and retirement processes for digital learning content, creating visibility of delivery status, adoption, effectiveness and lifecycle risk. Own enterprise standards for digital learning design, multimedia production, accessibility, responsible AI use, localisation, assessment, quality assurance, publishing and content governance, ensuring accountable SMEs validate technical accuracy and business owners approve release. Partner with IT, Digital, Operations Excellence and platform owners to define functional requirements for learning creation, distribution, access and measurement, and lead L&D input into the evaluation and implementation of relevant tools and technology solutions. Define expected capability, application and outcome measures with business sponsors and data owners before development; establish appropriate baselines, evidence sources, review periods and interpretation rules, and use evidence to recommend whether solutions should be improved, scaled, maintained, replaced or retired. Lead cross-functional working groups and influence senior stakeholders across markets, brands and functions without formal authority, resolving competing requirements and building capability in SMEs, facilitators, market partners and learning champions. Determine when solutions should be built internally, purchased, adapted or delivered through external partners; develop scopes, contribute to vendor selection, manage partner quality and delivery, monitor approved expenditure and build knowledge transfer into external engagements. Operate with limited day-to-day supervision, proactively identifying enterprise opportunities, creating clarity in ambiguous situations and progressing initiatives from identified need through design, deployment, adoption and effectiveness review. Leadership: Provides enterprise leadership for digital learning and content capability without relying on formal reporting authority. Operates independently within agreed strategic priorities, using professional judgement to diagnose needs, define solutions, make design decisions and drive execution with limited day-to-day supervision. Influences senior stakeholders across markets, brands and functions and creates alignment where requirements or priorities compete. Balances strategic ownership with hands-on delivery, particularly for ambiguous, high-priority or innovative initiatives. Challenges assumptions constructively and focuses stakeholders on the underlying capability and performance outcome. Builds sustainable internal capability through standards, coaching, enablement and knowledge transfer. Demonstrates ownership for the quality, relevance, scalability, adoption and effectiveness of enterprise digital learning solutions. Policies & Procedures: Owns the development and continuous improvement of enterprise digital-learning, content, responsible AI-use, accessibility, localisation, assessment, review, publishing and lifecycle standards. Establishes practical governance and decision rights that preserve business and technical accountability while enabling efficient production. Implements approved L&D, brand, franchise, legal, data-privacy and information-security requirements. Ensures content is validated by accountable business and technical owners before release. Frameworks, Boundaries & Decision-Making Authority: Determines the appropriate learning architecture, experience design, content format, production approach and approved tools for agreed priorities. Exercises independent judgement in diagnosing performance needs and recommending whether learning, performance support, manager reinforcement or referral to another accountable owner is required. Defines enterprise digital-learning and content standards, subject to approval of material policy, technology, legal or investment decisions by the relevant accountable stakeholders. Owns the digital learning and content pipeline and recommends portfolio priorities to the Head of L&D and business sponsors. Approves prototypes, design specifications, production methods and quality standards within delegated authority. Determines whether solutions should be built internally, purchased, adapted or delivered through external partners and presents recommendations for approval where financial authority is required. Leads relevant vendor and technology evaluations from the learning and user-experience perspective. Escalates decisions involving significant investment, enterprise technology architecture, franchise policy, operational policy or material business risk to the appropriate authority. Is accountable for progressing initiatives from identified need through design, development, deployment, adoption and effectiveness review. Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Learning Design, Education Technology, Multimedia, Communications, Digital Media, Business or a related field. Equivalent professional experience supported by a strong portfolio may be considered. Experience: Approximately 8-12 years of relevant experience in digital learning, learning experience design, educational media, video production, performance consulting or learning technology, including ownership of complex cross-functional initiatives. Demonstrated experience building or significantly evolving a digital learning, content-production or performance-support capability, rather than only producing individual learning assets. Demonstrated hands-on creation of short-form video and digital learning for frontline, distributed or operational audiences. Experience operating independently across functions, markets or brands and influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority. Experience defining governance, prioritising a portfolio, managing external partners and contributing to budgets or technology decisions. Experience in restaurants, retail, hospitality, logistics, manufacturing or another frontline environment is preferred. Job Specific Skills: Enterprise digital-learning strategy, operating-model design and capability building. Performance consulting and translation of business requirements into scalable learning and performance solutions. Learning technology requirements, platform integration and frontline distribution considerations. Portfolio prioritisation, vendor management, build-buy-partner analysis and budget contribution. Learning measurement covering capability, application, adoption and agreed talent, people or business outcomes. SME enablement, Train the Trainer resources and manager-reinforcement design. Generic Skills: Strategic thinking, enterprise perspective and business acumen. Independent judgement, ownership and comfort operating with limited supervision. Senior stakeholder management, influencing and constructive challenge. Creative problem solving, learning agility and comfort with ambiguity.
