ArchiTech CAD Academy works closely with professionals and organizations to ensure its training aligns with current market needs and standards.Role Description The Digital Surveying Lecturer will deliver lectures, practical sessions, and workshops on digital surveying concepts, tools, and methodologies to learners at various proficiency levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, demonstrating surveying workflows using relevant software and hardware, guiding learners through hands-on exercises, and assessing learner performance through assignments, tests, and project work. The lecturer will provide academic support, feedback, and mentoring to ensure learner progress, while maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessments, and course outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo, requiring regular collaboration with other faculty members and participation in curriculum development and academic quality initiatives.QualificationsStrong knowledge of digital surveying principles, geospatial concepts, and measurement techniques, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.Hands-on experience with surveying instruments and relevant software (e.g., CAD tools, GIS platforms, 3D modeling or point cloud processing applications).Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience in a technical or academic setting, with effective classroom management and presentation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare clear instructional materials and constructive learner feedback.Ability to design structured lesson plans, assessments, and projects that align with curriculum objectives and industry practices.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and reliability in meeting academic schedules and deadlines.Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to curriculum improvement, program promotion, and academy events.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; professional certifications in surveying or CAD/GIS are an advantage.Familiarity with current industry standards, safety practices, and ethical considerations in surveying and data handling.
