Digital Transformation & AI Manager

We’re not your regular wholesale warehouse, but experts in avocado, citrus and a vast variety of exotic fruits & veggies, educating tastes and developing new ones for the Romanian market, together with our local & international retail clients. We import, ripen, sort, pack and distribute fresh fruit and vegetables, with a team of around 150 people across two sites.This is an opportunity for a hands-on transformation leader who can turn data, automation and AI into results measured in margin, waste and hours saved – not in slides and proofs of concept.As Digital Transformation & AI Manager, you'll be the first person in this newly created function, reporting directly to the CEO.This role will have a high level of autonomy and a company-wide mandate: you will own our 12–18 month AI transformation roadmap, prioritize initiatives based on business cases, select and manage external implementation partners and make sure the solutions are actually used by our teams. You'll spend as much time in the warehouse and on the packing lines as in meetings.You will help us move from Excel and manual reports to fast, reliable information and smart automation: plain-language access to KPIs for management, exception alerts, demand forecasting, stock and waste optimization and document automation – across commercial, purchasing, logistics, packing, quality and finance.What you will need to succeed in this role:· Minimum 7 years of experience in digital transformation, data, analytics or operations consulting;· Minimum 3 years leading cross-functional data, automation or AI projects;· At least two projects taken all the way to production and adoption – not just proofs of concept;· Hands-on experience with ERP, WMS, BI and data integrations;· Experience managing external vendors: scope, budget, deliverables, SLAs;· Strong business acumen: business cases, KPIs, benefit tracking together with Finance;· Strong analytical skills & the ability to explain complex topics in plain language;Nice to have:

• Experience in FMCG, fresh food, distribution, logistics or manufacturing;
• Projects in forecasting, inventory optimization, anomaly detection or document AI;
• Experience in mid-sized companies with small IT teams;Mandatory requirements for the role:· Fluent professional English;· Driver’s license (B category) – for the daily commute to the office;· High computer literacy: BI & data tools, ERP/WMS, AI tools.This is a full-time, on-site role located in Stefanestii de Jos, Ilfov (find us on Google Maps).
