We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team and help guide our members through day-to-day programming at our specialized career center for adults with autism.Ideal candidates are open-minded, eager to learn new approaches to supporting individuals with autism, committed to fostering innovative employment opportunities, possess technological proficiency, and demonstrate strong teamwork skills.All Direct Support Professionals/Instructors receive comprehensive on-site training in addition to mandatory training required by state and federal agencies. Prior experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is NOT required, candidates from any background who are passionate about supporting people with special needs are encouraged to apply.Compensation: $45,000-$47,000 per year, Full-time Monday to FridayLocation: 79 Chestnut St, Ridgewood, NJ 07450 AND 5 Regent St, Livingston, NJ 07039Compensation and Benefits:Starting annual salary $45,000-$47,000*, full-time Monday to Friday.Medical and dental insuranceMajor federal holidays, according to the company calendar.10 Vacation days and 5 sick/personal days per year.403 B retirement plan.Paid training.*Additional compensation for American Sign Language Interpreter Services for staff who have successfully passed the New Jersey Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DDHH) Screening -OR- are Certified by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Responsibilities:Coaching, support, and teaching staff report directly to the Program Director and:Directly support our members with all activities throughout the day.Assist in developing, planning, teaching, and reporting on educational enrichment and job training classes with members.Maintain involvement, community, and safety.Work directly with members to facilitate participation and communication.Exemplify all rules, regulations, and policies set forth by the program.Assisting with all aspects of the program and other activities and events as needed Requirements:Must be 18 years of age or older.Must pass state mandated background checks and drug screening.Must take and pass all training required by NJ Department of the Developmentally Disabled.Must have an interest in and be comfortable working with the special needs community.Must have strong communication skills and experience working on a team.Must be computer proficient in a Microsoft environment.Bachelor’s Degree a plusExperience working with young adults with AUTISM a plus.
