Global Data Science Director Global Consumer Brand

Location: London, hybridCompensation:£200,000 base salary20% annual bonusEquity participationOmnis has been exclusively retained to identify a Global Customer Data Science Leader for one of the world’s most recognised consumer brands. This is not a conventional Data Science leadership mandate.

We are looking for someone with the intellectual curiosity, imagination and technical credibility to anticipate how AI will fundamentally change the way global businesses understand, predict and engage with their customers. For decades, consumer behaviour has largely been modelled using familiar transactional, demographic and behavioural data. The next generation of customer intelligence will be powered by a much broader universe of contextual data, unstructured information and emerging signals. The successful individual will help the organisation determine which of these signals will matter, what data it needs to acquire or create, and how predictive modelling, personalisation and customer decisioning must evolve as a result. This raises several defining questions:What should a world-class Data Science organisation look like in an AI-enabled business? How will Data Science, AI Engineering and MLOps converge?Which new forms of data will transform customer understanding? What infrastructure and operating model will be required? How do you build a culture in which AI-native talent can challenge convention and thrive? We are seeking a Director-level or above leader who is genuinely energised by these questions. You do not need to have solved all of them already—the playbook is still being written—but you will have begun to form a compelling perspective on what is coming next. You will be highly proactive in exploring developments across AI, modelling, data and infrastructure, translating them into a clear vision for the organisation. You will have the confidence to challenge established assumptions, identify opportunities others have not yet recognised and influence senior leaders across regions, functions and disciplines. The organisation is investing significantly across customer platforms, semantic layers, data infrastructure and wider enterprise transformation. The successful individual must therefore be comfortable moving between modelling innovation, technology architecture, organisational design and commercial outcomes. This could suit someone from a traditional Data Science leadership background, but it is not limited to one. We are open to leaders whose experience spans customer intelligence, AI, advanced analytics, data products, engineering or adjacent disciplines—provided they possess deep consumer understanding, strong technical judgement and an ambitious view of how the landscape is changing. What matters most is the ability to inspire. This person will need to energise a new generation of highly technical, AI-native talent, influence well beyond their immediate team and build belief in a fundamentally different future for customer science. This is an opportunity to define what the Data Science team of the future should become—and to help one of the world’s most recognisable consumer brands rethink how it understands its customers in the age of AI.
