Job DescriptionThe Cluster Director of Engineering is a key member of the cluster leadership team, responsible foroverseeing all engineering, maintenance, facilities management, technical services, and assetprotection functions across multiple hotels within the portfolio.This role combines strategic leadership, technical expertise, and project management capabilities tosupport hotels with different technical requirements. The Cluster Director of Engineering will play acritical role throughout the pre-opening, opening, and operational phases, ensuring successfulproject handovers, operational readiness, regulatory compliance, maintenance excellence, and longtermasset preservation.The successful candidate will lead engineering teams across the cluster, oversee technical operationsand capital projects, and work closely with ownership, consultants, and contractors to ensure thehotels are delivered, maintained, and operated to the highest standards of safety, reliability,efficiency, and sustainability.Key Responsibilities Lead all engineering, maintenance, and facilities management operations across the hotelcluster, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all assets. Develop and execute engineering strategies that support hotel business objectives, brandrequirements, owner priorities, and long-term asset value enhancement. Lead the engineering transition from project delivery to hotel operations, including testing &commissioning, inspections, snagging, defect management, and operational handover. Participate in design reviews and technical workshops to ensure projects are delivered inaccordance with operational requirements and engineering best practices. Review and validate engineering-related OS&E requirements, maintenance equipment,workshop tools, spare parts inventories, and procurement plans to ensure operationalreadiness and cost effectiveness. Prepare, manage, and control Engineering Pre-Opening Budgets (POB), ensuring allengineering readiness activities are completed within approved budgets and timelines. Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes for allbuilding systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire & life safety systems, verticaltransportation, kitchen equipment, and utilities infrastructure. Oversee capital expenditure projects, asset lifecycle planning, refurbishment works, andreplacement programs across the cluster. Drive operational efficiencies through preventive maintenance, energy managementinitiatives, contract optimization, and engineering best practices.Champion sustainability, energy conservation, water management, and ESG initiatives acrossall properties. Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, environmental, health & safety, and life safetyrequirements. Establish emergency preparedness plans, crisis response procedures, and business continuitymeasures for all hotels. Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams through coaching, training,succession planning, and performance management. Establish strong working relationships with ownership, project teams, consultants,contractors, and local authorities to ensure successful project delivery and ongoing assetstewardship.RequirementsThe successful candidate will be a highly respected engineering leader with a strong track record ofdelivering hotel projects from handover through opening and ongoing operations. They willcombine technical expertise with commercial awareness and strong stakeholder management skills.You will bring: Proven experience leading engineering functions within hotels, hospitality portfolios, mixedusedevelopments, or large-scale facilities. Significant experience supporting hotel pre-openings, including project handover,commissioning, snagging, defect management, and opening readiness activities. Strong understanding of OS&E validation, engineering procurement, spare parts planning,and operational readiness requirements. Experience preparing and managing Engineering Pre-Opening Budgets (POB) andengineering operating budgets. Demonstrated expertise in facilities management, preventative maintenance, asset lifecyclemanagement, and capital planning. Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing maintenance costs, service contracts,utility consumption, and CAPEX programs. Experience leading sustainability, energy efficiency, and asset optimization initiatives Proven experience managing emergency response, business continuity, and life safetyprogrammes. Technical qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building ServicesEngineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline. Experience working in hotel pre-opening environments and managing multiple propertieswill be highly advantageous
