Location: Portland, OR (or other U.S. manufacturing locations)Employment Type: Full-TimeAbout the OpportunityA leading global manufacturer serving advanced technology and precision-engineered industries is seeking a Director, Global Logistics, Trade & Supply Chain Compliance to lead and transform global logistics, international trade compliance, supply chain risk management, and transportation operations across a complex manufacturing network.This executive leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing global logistics strategies, ensuring import/export compliance, driving transportation optimization, implementing Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) programs, reducing landed cost, strengthening supply chain resilience, and supporting scalable global operations.The successful candidate will combine deep expertise in international logistics, customs and trade compliance, tariff strategy, supplier risk management, and business transformation while partnering closely with executive leadership and cross-functional global teams.Key ResponsibilitiesGlobal Logistics LeadershipDevelop and execute global transportation and logistics strategies.Improve logistics performance, shipment visibility, delivery reliability, and customer responsiveness.Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and logistics service providers.Lead transportation optimization initiatives including network design, carrier strategy, freight consolidation, and premium freight reduction.Drive cost savings, performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI management.Trade Compliance & Customs ManagementLead and continuously improve the global trade compliance program.Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, sanctions programs, and international trade regulations.Oversee product classification, licensing, customs governance, restricted party screening, and regulatory reporting.Monitor global trade policy changes, tariffs, sanctions, and export control requirements.Develop tariff mitigation, duty recovery, and trade optimization strategies.Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) LeadershipLead implementation and ongoing management of Foreign-Trade Zone programs.Establish compliance controls, operating procedures, governance processes, and employee training.Partner with Finance, Operations, IT, and external stakeholders to integrate FTZ operations into business processes.Maximize operational and financial benefits from FTZ utilization.Supply Chain Compliance & Risk ManagementLead supplier compliance and supply chain risk programs.Strengthen supplier visibility, resilience, and business continuity capabilities.Support responsible sourcing, due diligence, forced labor compliance, and supplier governance initiatives.Identify, assess, and mitigate global supply chain risks.Technology & Business TransformationDevelop technology roadmaps supporting logistics, compliance, supply chain visibility, and analytics.Improve automation, reporting, data quality, and decision support capabilities.Implement logistics, compliance, ERP, and supply chain systems enhancements.Create executive dashboards providing visibility into logistics performance, trade compliance, tariff exposure, and supply chain risk.Leadership & Strategic CollaborationLead and develop a global team across multiple regions and functions.Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Finance, IT, Quality, and Legal teams.Translate complex regulatory and operational issues into practical business recommendations.Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve cost, compliance, resilience, and scalability.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Engineering, Business Administration, Compliance, or related discipline.10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, global trade compliance, customs, transportation, or supply chain operations.5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and complex global programs.Strong knowledge of international transportation, customs operations, freight management, and trade compliance.Experience with import/export regulations, customs compliance, sanctions programs, export controls, and global trade governance.Experience managing carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers.Proven track record implementing large-scale process improvements or business transformation initiatives.Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.PreferredSemiconductor, electronics, aerospace, medical device, industrial technology, or precision manufacturing experience.Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) implementation experience.Tariff mitigation and duty recovery expertise.Supply chain risk management and supplier compliance experience.ERP, logistics technology, trade compliance systems,
