Role SummaryThe Director - HRBP helms the Human Resources Business Partnering division for GMG's Everyday Goods division, spanning multi-format retail, food manufacturing, and B2B distribution. This role entails supervisory responsibilities over assigned HRBP functions, ensuring that all implemented programs and procedures are consistent with core business values. The incumbent collaborates with key business stakeholders in retail operations, manufacturing/plant leadership, and commercial/distribution leadership, and leads the development of strategic human resources initiatives aimed at attracting, developing, and retaining talent across these distinct workforce populations.Responsibilities The incumbent is primarily tasked with leading the HR Business Partnering function for assigned functions, encompassing responsibilities such as organizational restructuring, strategic budgeting, and addressing operational issues related to employee relations, policy application, and guidance, with particular attention to the distinct employee relations profiles of retail frontline staff, factory/production workforces, and the distribution sales force.This position involves evaluating the performance of individual team members, fostering an environment that encourages performance improvement, and ensuring that key department personnel possess the requisite skills, tools, and capabilities to effectively fulfill their responsibilities.Maintaining a deep understanding of the broader business context, particularly focusing on employee relations, policy implementation, and people management practices.The role necessitates collaboration with other HR directors and senior HR leadership to formulate and execute both short-term and long-term strategic objectives for the department.Own workforce planning and manpower budgeting across the division, including headcount planning, manning ratios for new store and factory openings, and seasonal or promotional staffing for retail.Partners with retail, manufacturing, and distribution leadership to manage the people agenda, including capability building and organizational readiness, ensuring smooth transitions as new stores open, factories scale, and the distribution portfolio expands.The incumbent sets HR and culture priorities aligned to business goals, ensuring consistent people practices across all verticals within the division.Ensure that all job descriptions are meticulously crafted and organized in alignment with the guidelines provided by the Rewards team, maintaining clarity, consistency, and compliance across all roles.Competencies:Exceptional business acumen, including a thorough understanding of the business environment, market influencers, and financial considerations, critical to building personal credibility and influencing leadership and management decisions, alongside expertise in organizational development and a comprehensive understanding of human resources.Advanced consulting skills, essential for advising on and enhancing HR functions, guiding strategic initiatives, and cultivating HR practices aligned with business objectives.Deep understanding of legal aspects, specifically UAE labour law and MOHRE regulations as they apply to blue-collar/production workforces and multi-site retail operations.Strong awareness of the latest trends and best practices in HR.Solid grasp of the retail / FMCG / Manufacturing industry and business factors that shape the development, implementation, and sustainability of HR strategies.Experience operating a multi-format, multi-site HR delivery model, providing consistent HR service across retail stores fleet, manufacturing facilities, and distribution/commercial offices simultaneously.Familiarity with industrial/labor relations in an FMCG or manufacturing production environment, including workforce management and food safety culture.Understanding of route-to-market and commercial sales force structures, including incentive design and field force management relevant to multi-channel distribution.Job requirements A bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred. HR Professional Certification (SHRM/CIPD)At least 10 years of human resources experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role Significant experience in a similar role.Strong People leadership and team management capabilities.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders. Arabic is a plus.
