Director Investments

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Director of Investments to lead investment strategy, evaluation, execution, and portfolio management. The role will be responsible for identifying attractive investment opportunities, conducting rigorous financial and commercial analysis, leading transactions, and maximizing returns across the investment portfolio.The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in private equity, investment banking, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, asset management, or corporate investments, with a strong understanding of the UAE and GCC investment landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the organization's overall investment strategy in alignment with long-term growth and return objectives.Originate and evaluate new investment opportunities across targeted sectors and geographies.Lead the complete investment lifecycle from deal sourcing and screening through due diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, execution, and exit.Build and review sophisticated financial models, including DCF, LBO, IRR, NPV, sensitivity and scenario analysis.Prepare high-quality investment memorandums and recommendations for the Investment Committee, CEO and Board.Lead commercial, financial, operational, legal and market due diligence processes.Negotiate transaction structures, valuations, shareholder agreements and key commercial terms alongside legal and financial advisors.Monitor portfolio company performance against investment cases, budgets and strategic objectives.Work closely with portfolio company leadership to identify opportunities for growth, operational improvement and value creation.Develop portfolio performance reporting covering returns, valuation movements, risks and strategic developments.Assess potential acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments, divestments and other corporate transactions.Maintain strong relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, advisors and institutional investors.Monitor macroeconomic, sector and capital-market developments affecting investment decisions.Lead and mentor investment professionals while establishing strong investment governance and decision-making processes.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.MBA, CFA, CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.Typically 12+ years of relevant investment experience, with significant experience in a senior investment leadership role.Strong background within Private Equity, Investment Banking, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Family Offices, Asset Management, M&A or Corporate Investments.Demonstrated track record of successfully evaluating and executing investments.Strong expertise in valuation, financial modelling, transaction structuring and due diligence.Experience presenting investment recommendations to Investment Committees, Boards or senior shareholders.Strong understanding of corporate finance, capital structures, investment risk and portfolio management.UAE/GCC investment experience strongly preferred.Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and executive communication skills.What we you are: We are particularly interested in candidates who have progressed through a rigorous investment banking, private equity or institutional investment environment and subsequently taken responsibility for managing investments at a senior level.The successful candidate should combine strong financial and analytical capability with commercial judgement, rather than being solely a finance or accounting professional.
