Director - IT & Digital Transformation

Emirates Drug Establishment is seeking an accomplished UAEN digital transformation leader to drive the organization’s digital strategy, technology modernization, data capabilities, and innovation agenda.The Director – Digital Transformation Department will lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide digital initiatives that enhance regulatory effectiveness, operational efficiency, customer experience, and data-driven decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement EDE’s digital transformation strategy in alignment with its mandate and strategic priorities.Lead the modernization, integration, and optimization of enterprise systems, digital platforms, and regulatory technology solutions.Identify opportunities to utilize artificial intelligence, automation, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies across EDE.Establish digital governance frameworks, technology standards, policies, and performance measures.Oversee enterprise architecture, system integration, data management, interoperability, and technology lifecycle planning.Lead the digitalization and automation of regulatory, administrative, and customer-facing processes.Strengthen the use of data analytics and executive dashboards to support evidence-based decision-making.Collaborate with business functions to identify requirements, redesign processes, and implement sustainable digital solutions.Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity, information security, data privacy, and business continuity requirements are embedded within digital initiatives.Manage strategic technology programmes, budgets, vendors, contracts, service providers, and implementation partners.Establish appropriate project governance, risk management, quality assurance, and benefits-realization mechanisms.Lead organizational change, digital adoption, capability development, and stakeholder engagement.Build and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary digital transformation team.Represent EDE in relevant government committees, strategic partnerships, and digital transformation forums.Qualifications and ExperienceThis position is open exclusively to UAE Nationals holding a valid UAE Family Book.Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Digital Transformation, or a related field.Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.12–15 years of relevant experience in digital transformation, technology strategy, enterprise systems, or IT leadership.Minimum five years of experience in a senior leadership or managerial position.Demonstrated experience leading large-scale digital transformation and technology modernization programmes.Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, data management, artificial intelligence, automation, cloud technologies, system integration, and digital governance.Experience in government, healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or a regulatory environment is highly desirable.Proven ability to manage complex programmes, external partners, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.Strong understanding of change management, stakeholder engagement, and digital adoption.Leadership CompetenciesStrategic and future-focused leadershipDigital and technology acumenInnovation and continuous improvementEnterprise-level decision-makingStakeholder and partnership managementProgramme and change leadershipResults orientation and accountabilityTeam development and capability buildingQualified candidates with a strong record of delivering enterprise-wide digital transformation are invited to apply through LinkedIn.#DigitalTransformation #TechnologyLeadership #ArtificialIntelligence #GovernmentJobs #AbuDhabi #LeadershipCareers #EmiratesDrugEstablishment
