Here you will lead commercial contract negotiations, provide strategic business counsel, and oversee corporate governance, risk management, and M&A support. Additionally, you will drive legal process improvements to enable scalable growth.Here you’ll get toCommercial Contracts & Deal ExecutionLead the end-to-end drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements required by the business, including deals involving music rights acquisition, content licensing and distribution, talent engagement, brand collaborations, creative contributions, digital distribution, and technology agreements.Independently draft and negotiate operational and procurement-related contracts, including technology services, vendor arrangements, and consultancy engagements, ensuring that key legal, commercial, and risk positions are appropriately protected.Provide pragmatic drafting solutions and negotiate effectively with counterparties to achieve commercially workable outcomes.Business Partnership & Strategic AdvisoryDeliver timely, practical, and business-oriented legal advice across a broad range of matters, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.Advise on digital distribution, content platform strategy, and emerging business models, identifying legal opportunities and risks arising from new market developments.Provide guidance on marketing, promotional activities, campaigns, social media activities, and live events, ensuring compliance with applicable codes of practice, data protection requirements, and industry regulations.Act as a trusted legal partner to the business, able to assess issues quickly and provide clear recommendations with minimal supervision.Governance, Ethics & Risk ManagementOversee company secretarial duties, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance activities in coordination with central specialist teams and local external counsel.Ensure the company’s operations comply with all relevant local laws and regulations.Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities, providing strategic advice to mitigate exposure.Manage litigation, regulatory inquiries, disputes, and other high-risk matters, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisers as needed.Oversee policy rollouts, vendor intake processes, and compliance with delegated authority frameworks, while supporting the development and refinement of internal policies, processes, and controls to strengthen governance and reduce risk.M&A, Group Structuring & Strategic InitiativesManage intra-group agreements to support the licensing of rights, provision of services, and finance within the Group.Provide legal support for regional M&A activities, strategic investment opportunities, and corporate restructuring.Work closely with finance, tax, compliance, and business teams to ensure transaction documentation and implementation are aligned with broader business objectives.Legal Operations, Enablement & Team CollaborationConduct workshops with cross-functional teams on legal issues relevant to their work to enhance deal-making quality and decision-making.Support business optimisation and management through robust data collection, organisation, and reporting processes.Partner closely with internal stakeholders to streamline legal workflows and improve cross-functional coordination.Contribute to process improvements, template development, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that enhance efficiency and consistency, reduce risk, and support scalable business growth.About youQualified Lawyer with a current practicing certificate.10 years+ of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel (prior experience in music, media, entertainment, or digital tech preferred).Strong expertise in commercial drafting, negotiation, and cross-border transactions across the APAC region.Solid understanding of digital distribution, IP/music rights, data privacy, and corporate governance.Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, and engage effectively with senior business leaders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified Chinese).Additional APAC language skills are a plus.As the home to 10K Projects, Asylum, Atlantic Music Group, East West, FFRR, Fueled by Ramen, Nonesuch, Parlophone, Rhino, Roadrunner, Sire, Warner Records, Warner Classics, and several other of the world’s premier recording labels, Warner Music Group champions emerging artists and global superstars alike.
