Job SummaryThe Director, Legal provides strategic legal leadership and counsel to a growing organisation. This senior leadership opportunity for an experienced legal professional who can navigate complex legal and regulatory matters while balancing business objectives, risk and opportunity.Key Responsibilities• Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with organisational objectives• Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and key stakeholders• Lead legal and regulatory compliance, including policies, procedures and assessments• Oversee the negotiation, drafting and review of contracts and agreements• Manage litigation, disputes and external legal counsel• Oversee intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights and patents• Provide legal guidance on corporate dealings, transactions and conveyancing matters• Engage with government agencies, regulators and other external stakeholders• Advise on employee and industrial relations matters• Lead and manage the Legal function, including budget management and team developmentWhat We’re Looking For• Bachelor’s Degree in Law from an accredited institution• Admission to the relevant Bar is an advantage• Minimum 10 - 15 years of legal experience, with at least 7 years in a managerial capacity• Strong experience in litigation, tenancy, debt recovery, intellectual property, corporate dealings, conveyancing, property and employee/industrial relations matters• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation and communication capabilities• Sound understanding of legal, regulatory and industry developments
