Director of Accounting

We're currently partnering with a fast-growing international e-commerce company looking to hire a Director of Accounting to lead and scale the global accounting function. This is an international role spanning multiple entities and markets, working closely with the Group CFO to shape the finance function as the business scales. It's an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a senior accounting leadership role with genuine scope to make an impact.What you'll be doingLead and scale the accounting function across multiple international entities Build a scalable statutory close and reporting process to support a high-growth e-commerce environment.Design and implement internal controls and processes across in-country close and reporting requirements.Own relationships with external and group auditors, leading the preparation for all financial audits.Establish internal expertise in IFRS translation and consolidation, and oversee sub-ledger integrity within NetSuite.Support the group-wide NetSuite rollout and drive continuous improvement across processes, controls, and systems.Mentor and lead an international team.Partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership on strategic decision-making, financial analysis, and reporting.What we're looking forMinimum of 9 years' progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years leading international teams.Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP (HGB); familiarity with Polish accounting standards is a plus.Essential hands-on experience with NetSuite.Proven track record of managing financial consolidations across multinational entities and implementing accounting systems and process improvements.Previous experience within a high-growth e-commerce or marketplace business is highly preferred.Exposure to finance digital transformation, RPA, and process automation is advantageous.Fluent in German and English; Polish is a strong asset.PracticalitiesLocation: Berlin (hybrid, minimum 2 days per week in the office)Start Date: ASAP
