Business Development Director — Defense ElectronicsHelp a fast-growing defense manufacturer break into the US Tier 1 marketHere's a rare one: a specialist manufacturer of complex sub-assemblies — the kind of hardware that ends up inside missiles, munitions, and ground systems for the world's biggest defense primes — is scaling up its US domestic push, and they need someone to lead the charge. This isn't a maintain-the-pipeline role. This is a build-it role. You'll own the strategy to identify and qualify high-value manufacturing, integration, and testing opportunities directly within Tier 1 defense contractors' supply chains — and you'll have direct accountability for revenue growth as the company expands its footprint across the US domestic market. This is B2B business development, not government contracting. Your buyers are supply chain leads, program managers, and systems engineers inside the primes — the people deciding who gets qualified as a supplier and who gets the work. What you'll be doing:Owning the domestic marketing and sales strategy for the defense market, start to finishBuilding direct relationships with supply chain, procurement, program management, and systems engineering contacts inside Tier 1 primesResearching emerging defense markets and turning insight into an aggressive, actionable pipelineRepresenting the company at major defense conferences, trade shows and industry forumsGuiding sales, marketing, and customer service to punch above their weightShaping product development and distribution strategy directly from the front line of customer demandWhat you bring:10+ years of B2B business development / sales experience selling into Tier 1 defense contractors — you know how to get qualified as a supplier and win a place in the supply chainDeep commercial knowledge of manufacturing, integration, and testing for complex sub-assembliesA sharp read on the defense industry landscape and how the primes buyWorking familiarity with ITAR and export complianceThe presence to build trust with engineers and program owners, not just procurementA Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related fieldThe willingness to travel domestically, frequently, to be where the relationships areDue to the confidential nature of the Defense contracts – candidates must be US citizensWhy this one's worth a conversation:This is a seat at the table for someone who wants to build a US market presence from a position of strength — proven capability, real Tier 1 traction already on the board, and the autonomy to run the strategy your way.
