Director of Business Operations

Our client, a healthcare AI startup, is hiring a Director of Business Operations to run their Northern California region. This person will manage a ~$10M ARR market with room to grow to $70M+, lead a team of 10+, and own the full P&L, strategy, and day-to-day operations.What you'll doOwn the NorCal P&L — drive growth, physician satisfaction, and efficiency across all clinic sitesLead and grow a team of 10+ (specialists and hourly staff), with several more hires planned over the next 6 monthsVisit clinics weekly to make sure sites are stocked, running smoothly, and delivering a great experienceBuild strong physician relationships to keep churn at zero and drive referralsWork with product/engineering to find automation opportunities and roll out AI-driven workflowsWhat you'll needReal P&L ownership experience — you've managed revenue and costs for a region or business unit, not just advised on onePrior management experience — you'll inherit 10+ direct reports from day oneA consulting background (MBB strongly preferred), ideally with a move into operating roles at high-growth startups or marketplacesA degree from a top universityWillingness to be hands-on — expect travel, lots of execution early on, and a "whatever it takes" attitudeIdeal backgroundConsulting (MBB or Big 4) in ops/strategy at a Series A–D startup, or ops/strategy at a marketplace7–12 years of experience in operations or strategyTop-25 university; flexible for standout candidatesComfortable using AI tools to build and improve workflowsExperience in healthcare or health-tech
